Not much to report.  Work was busy  and the leg was a little sore today but it's improving each day.   Ribs improving as well but still give me trouble sleeping.

Good job all those that ran STG.

Had my Doctor's appointment and the femur is healing good.  The bone is forming around the rod.  But I still have the crack which has healed a bit but the doctor is being cautious and said no weight bearing for another 4 weeks.

He said I can use a stationary bike, swim and walk on one crutch and take about 6 to 8 steps without crutches.  Well I took about 50 steps today and my shin is pretty sore.

During the surgery that's when the crack was discovered and they were not anticipating it being there.  They were thinking about going up in my knee with a nail to block the crack but knew that would cause running problems later.  So they decided to use the screws and that's why I have to be real careful and not do anything to let the crack expand into the knee, being its above it.

So another 4 weeks on crutches basically and no weight bearing.

I weight myself this morning since I can put weight on my leg every once in a while through the day (well the doctor really once to keep that next to nothing) and I weight  130.5 pounds.  Changing from high fat and protein and not as many carbs definitely does cause you to lose weight if you keep the calories down.

Trying to wear a shoe for the first time on my leg today, but the foot is still a bit swollen.  When I did put weight on the leg it feels weird,  like baby walking the first time I'm sure.  Who knows what a baby is thinking about that first time.

I need to enter into some wheelchair races to practice on my pace. :-)

 Breakfast:

Muscle Milk mixed with one egg, 4oz yogurt water and ice.

Snack:

Spinach and leftover yogurt

Lunch:

Grilled Salmon burger, one egg and mushroom and onions

Dinner:

One turkey cheddar polish sausage,

one veggie sausage,

mushrooms, onions, peppers, green beans, and corn

Good healthy eating day.

Did about 800 situps last night with the rib pain and 100 push-ups on one leg.  This wasn't easy.  I haven't been doing push-ups and sit-ups for a week now and just haven't mentioned it.  I did about 100 situps this morning and a few push-ups.

Couldn't sleep last night... had a lot nightmares about the accident.

Had drum lessons today with my son and that went well.  Learning a little each week.  Then we went to my son's last baseball game.  Did some odds and ends also today.

Didn't really exercise at all today.  Probably do some sit-ups and push-ups tonight.
