Had a killer headache yesterday so I slept in a little longer than I wanted to this morning. I wanted to run at least an hour but do to the medication the night before I just didn't get motivated enough to get ready. (28 degrees)
Although, I ran 7.53 miles in a 7:14 pace in 54 minutes. I ran up East Alameda Rd. down Jefferson Rd. and over to Garrett Way. Did the last two miles at a 6:57 pace. I really haven't tried to bust out a faster tempo run lately because the body just doesn't feel like it anymore. When you have a serious accident I think the soreness tends to stay with you even though you think your totally healed. My goal would be to do about 4 miles at a 5:55 threshold pace and back off with two at 6:20. I'm just not there yet. Even though I don't have a planned race this year, consistent running is more important and I consider that my racing. It's always good to try and have a goal while your running for fitness just for something to achieve and make your fitness fun and agonizing.
