This morning it was 15 degrees with a nice wind.  My legs really didn't want to move today.  They felt real heavy and tired like myself.  I think I'm still dragging from the weekend, because I haven't been sleeping well since I've been back from Arizona.  Anyway, I ran 11.3 miles at a 7:04 in 1:20.  I did some good hill climbs today again.  I'm really trying to improve on my uphill running and three days in a row can only help.

No running at lunch too busy and also too busy tonight.

Don't do to many hills all at once. It might flare up the achilles.

From Benn on Thu, Mar 06, 2008 at 16:26:21

Thanks, Kory! You look like you're almost back to 100% :) I agree with Josse. I am still avoiding hills even on my walking when possible. Hills are achilles tendons' Kryptonite boo.

Run safe! and Run Strong!

I don't think it's a 100% because it still crackling when you bend it after a run, but it doesn't hurt. No more hills this week. I'm going to attempt my first long run on it tomorrow if I can get out of bed early. I'm still a little sore from last weekends event.

Benn, did your doctor mention about if your

achilles makes a crackling sound what that really means, or if it's in a particular phase?

From Benn on Thu, Mar 06, 2008 at 19:45:28

no I talked about the "grinding" and he said that was definitely a sign of inflammation for achilles tendinitis

Everything I've read about grinding/crackling is just that it's a symptom of tendinitis. Though, if you're not experiencing pain, I think you too are well on your way to mending it.

Do you still use a heel lift or anything?

Take it easy tomorrow morning. I can only imagine you're a bit sore, you KICKED BUTT IN THE RELAY by the way!

From wheakory on Thu, Mar 06, 2008 at 21:40:54

Benn: I haven't been using a heel lift or anything. I do stretch it a lot which I think has helped. I haven't put any ice on it since last Friday. One thing I did notice in the relay runs is I didn't have as much push off on my right leg as before the injury so I know it's not quited healed. I did okay in the relay, but not as well as I liked to have, and it probably didn't meet Sasha's expectations either. I did try as hard as I could have with the shape I was in.

Thanks for your advice about taking it easy tomorrow I'm going to try and keep the pace slow at least for most of the run.

I really pray that you heal fast, your too good of a guy to be so long without running. Who knows maybe one of these years when I decide to run the New York Marathon we can hook-up a run together.

I hope the new shoes work great.
