I wasn't going to run this morning since I ran yesterday, but I decided too.   I had so much energy that I needed to do something this morning.  I only got 6 hours of sleep last night.  Every time I eat refried beans for dinner it puts a fire under my legs, and I have an overwhelming amount of energy.  I wish I could eat them everyday, but they have the negative affect of extreme gas issues.

Anyway, I ran 11.23 miles at an overall 7:07 pace in 1:19:51.  I really had to slow myself down, because my legs wanted to take off this morning.  But after running a Half Marathon on Saturday I wanted to be safe and get some easy miles in.  I wasn't sore at all from Saturday which was very surprising.  I did keep the course safe and didn't do any hills just flat miles, (well maybe some rolling hills).

No more races for me this year, but I will still try to keep my mileage up.  I'm not sure what's next, maybe a marathon in April.

Ahhh, so that's your secret...refried beans! I know what I'll be eating tonight.

Kory, You are truly amazing in what your body can handle.

Adam RW - I don't think it's amazing it might just be stupidity. :-)

Kory, I just have to ask......did you eat beans Friday night cause you sure blew down the hill Saturday morning :)

From wheakory on Mon, Nov 03, 2008 at 14:57:03

You know I almost did for that reason. I actually had something different. I ate Sweet and Sour Chicken with Rice and Tortilla's. I normally eat pasta but I want to experiment a bit.

I could have pushed it harder but I did what to risk anything, because of not feeling right at my peak. You have to be careful when you know your not a 100% because it's easy to get a injury.

Bill you blew down the mountain yourself with a great time and many more ahead. Just make sure you save some for Tucson and don't ruin your peak in training too hard.

Kory, what a great workout. Your easy running 7:07 pace for over 11 miles was my gut busting 7:07 pace yesterday in my 5K race. I like your maturity declaring no more races this year, working in deep recovery. You have proved your elite status for this year, and next year gets better. Get to 100% recovery and watch out, here you go!
