Good night of sleep last night... almost 8 hours.    The weather was great this morning and I was ready to run even though it took me a little bit longer to get out of the house.

My legs the last two days have really felt fresh and I've had to back off the horses, and save this for the marathon.  I ran 10:34 miles at an 6:54 pace in 1:11.  Still sticking with the plan of 60 miles this week, and only one run a day to stay fresh hopefully.

I have to work at 11pm tonight to bring down some systems for firmware upgrades so I think I'll change my VO2max training that I was going to do from Wednesday to Thursday.

I did ride my bike to work so I got a little more exercise after the run. Another insane day at work today.  Getting anything finished before the fall College semester that starts next week.

Good plan with the mileage and great job getting a full nights sleep. Good luck getting some rest today and tomorrow with the late night.

Thanks Adam. I hope the rest and taper will help. I'm so anxious right now and ready. I've ran this course so much and can't wait to get to the rolling hills portion.

I'm going to share my split strategy to maybe try to get under 2:40 again. I would like your feedback just because you analyze things so well. I will post it on the discussion board soon.

Kory, I have a lot of confidence that you can go well below 2:40. I'm not sure about the course but you really impressed at WBR and have done only great training since. Taper madness is hard to deal with but just keep a level head and know that now is about rest. I it is crazy the amount of changes that go on in your body during taper. I found a 20+ page review article in one of the scientific journals and your body really "changes" during this time. Looking forward to your splits and then seeing you smash them!

Kory, We just got back to Texas this evening so I finally posted my Pikes Peak Race report. I took 2nd place in my age group. Enjoy, Paul

Kory,

What is you plan for Boise? Gina has to work and i was wondering if you were going with the family or not? Maybe we could ride up together and save money on gas and a hotel?

Barry - I'm not sure... right now my only focus is on the Pocatello Marathon and only concern. I can't look ahead I need to keep my focus on the one I'm going to run in less than 10 days.

Boise marathon is in October correct?
