Didn't get a lot of sleep last night because of a problem at work (5 hours of sleep).  When I got ready to run the temperature was 13 degrees.  I was little concerned before running because of my heel hurting, and didn't know if running would make the discomfort worse.  On the run today I basically limped the last 6 miles home in pain.  The pain is on the back of my heel and side of my heel.  I believe I'm going to have to schedule a visit to the doctor, because I can't even walk now without hurting

 8.01 miles at a miserable 7:59 pace in 1:03.

Sorry about your heel pain, do you think it is Plantar fascitis? This is what my wife has and it takes some time to get over, so I hope not. Get the doc to check it out.

Sounds like a good decision to visit the Doc and see what is going on. I had Plantar fascitis several years ago and it was painful when I first started running but it would go away once I got warmed up. Also, it was real painful if you were sitting for a long period of time then got up to walk. I hope it is nothing serious and you feel better soon.

I don't know Jeff. Does it usual hurt on the sides of the heel and the bottom?

From jtshad on Tue, Dec 16, 2008 at 17:31:02

Yes, I believe it can with PF.

Kory,

Be careful! Sounds like a good idea to get it checked out. Hopefully it's nothing serious.
