Today I did my standard Satterfield hill loop except when I reached the top I went back down to get more down hill running.  I've done this several times before. It's good training to get ready for TOU.

I decided to do a mini tempo on the downhill, but not push too hard.  First mile was still flat and I warm-up "6:35" than downhill "5:29, 5:37" and finally part downhill and flat "5:47", whats very encouraging is I didn't push too hard being a little cautious since I ran a marathon last Saturday.  I feel my downhill running is strong and not to give a full effort and get these splits is very encouraging.  This Saturday I plan to run 12 miles on a downhill course to get ready for TOU, and what better course than the start of the Pocatello Marathon Course.

Sorry I don't really have too many good tips on tiling. I've just done a few projects and seem to be getting better. Hopefully this kitchen project will be one of the last big ones.

Congrats on the marathon win. There is a nice picture of you on marathonguide.com probably one you have already seen, from the local newspaper.

I look forward to meeting you if you make it down to the St. George Marathon.

Thanks... I'm registered now for St. George. But I'm looking for a hotel and everything seems sold out. I'm coming up by myself.

You are doing Pocatello, then TOU, then STG?

From wheakory on Thu, Sep 06, 2007 at 16:32:24

Yes... I know I'm gambling on how well I'll recover. But it's all for fun right?

Kory,

Glad you've decided to run St. George, it's a first-rate marathon and you should certainly destroy 2:50 on that course just so long as you don't go way too fast the first 7 miles. I must point out that if you're in Pocatello you'll be going down to southwest Utah, not up. Wouldn't want you to miss the race! (Couldn't resist making this comment after you said you'd be "coming up" by yourself.) Good luck finding a place to stay. The motel I found last year was not so great but I imagine you'll figure something out.

JohnK: I really don't want to ride by myself, but my wife can't get out of managing our daycare that day so the only option is to go by myself. The furthest I've been in Utah is in Salt Lake City and that's it. It will be along drive by myself. I believe it's 7 hours from Pocatello.

Kory, we are heading down on Thursday if you want to caravan down (don't know if you are planning on leaving this early). I have a friend who had a 3 bedroom condo reserved but had two folks pull out and was looking for people to stay. He was going to cancel it, but I don't know if he did. I will check it out and let you and Ted know.

From wheakory on Fri, Sep 07, 2007 at 19:04:42

I was planning on leaving Friday morning, but I really appreciate your offer and will consider it. The condo how many nights do you have to stay, or can you stay one night. What's the price? Thank you for the info.
