This morning my legs felt like there were rocks attached to them they just didn't want to move for the first few miles. I even got over 8 hours sleep last night. Maybe it's because I ran on Sunday which I very rarely do. I ran 9.2 miles at an 6:47 pace in 1:02. First three miles were going up Olympus Dr. and that's all uphill. Then I turned on Booth Rd., and got about two miles of downhill. After this I thought I would do some pickups and speed up a bit. I really wasn't focusing on maintaining a certain pace, but just try to get a better turn over rate on my legs

Evening:

Decided to run home from work today, since my TM is broke at home so I can't run on it on my lunch hour. My house is less than 2 miles from work so I stretched the run to 4.2 miles at an overall 6:53 pace in 28.59 minutes. Felt like a really easy effort.

Later that evening:

Ran with the wife and son in the scroller for 1.28 mile  at a 12:41 pace.

See Kory, I had the opposite problem. I was flat all last week. Partly because of Del Sol recovery and partly because I took off Sun but still tried to get in my normal mileage. I don't know how you guys do the 6 day weeks. My body just doesn't handle it well...

Adam RW- some weeks I don't either know how the body does it, but I'm humbled when it can. I think part of my problem is I need to drop my runs a bit and stay around 60% effort. I've been running so many runs under a 7 minute pace, that maybe its catching up with me.

Your looking good Adam and your going to really excel in the Salt Lake Marathon. I ran that one two years ago and really liked it.

That's the thing that surprises me. Even with seven days a week, many of my runs are slower than 7:30 pace. When I see others on the blog hitting 70+ at about 1/2 their miles around 6:00 pace I too am humbled at the abilities of the human body.

Yes! you are correct sir! My recovery runs are sometimes as slow as 7:30-8/min mi. ESPECIALLY when running higher mileage weeks. Try to run more with your intuition and be less focused on hitting certain numbers maybe. Just a thought. You will notice I ran only 65 miles the week of Del Sol. I used that as a cut back week from hitting a high point of 79/miles for the previous week. It makes a difference when you do that every so often. Maybe you already do this I don't know. Just a suggestion.. Sometimes your just flat and having a bad run too.

Hey Kory. Not sure how the achilles is going? I hope well. Nice miles. Maybe it's already over this part, but I was doing some googling for you, and came across a site that actually mentioned a "crackling" noise as being a symptom of tendinitis, though it didn't say what stage along it would be. It probably won't help you, since I'm sure you've already self treated yourself adequately as well, but here it is:

Best of luck on the road to recovery and SPRING IS ALMOST HERE! WOOT!
