This morning it was 18 degrees when I started running after 9 hours of sleep last night. I wanted to run some faster miles. It was really cold to getting the muscles moving today. But I stuck to the plan and did one warm-up mile at 7:20, then wanted to decrease that down at least 45 seconds of for the next mile (6:20). Now I decided to do two tempo miles: 5:57 - The wind was blowing and my muscle were started to get warmed up. 5:50 - Not bad feeling pretty good 6:37 - slowing down after the two mile tempo. 6:10 - thought I would pick it up again a bit. Only did 6.22 miles at an overall 6:23 pace in 39:46 minutes. I plan on running 6 miles on the HM course on my lunch hour with Barry. Very busy day at work (back to back meetings). Lunch: Barry and I ran the Pocatello Just Be Cuz Half Marathon course today. He ran close to 7 miles and I ran 8.11 miles at an overall 7:02 pace in 57:04. I pushed him a bit to get some faster miles in. Barry's doing great and will do good next week. The cours has a lot of rolling hills so it will be interesting even for me.
