I ran outside this morning in terrible conditions with the wind blowing and snowing again like Monday, but not snowing as hard. The temperature was 15, but with the wind chill it made it 7 degrees. I ran 11 miles at an overall 6:46 pace in 1:15. I really couldn't pick up any fast miles in this run because of the surface conditions. I could have ran on the home treadmill or gym, but I figured running on packed snow can only strengthen your legs, unless you slip and fall.

The wind played a good part in making sure I was focused, because I ran on a busy road where the visibility caused by the snow , "I'm sure", made it hard for cars to see me. I did the last mile in 6:20 in the wind.

I had to hurry to work because I was in a training class all day till 4pm for our Luminis Portal System.

Lunch:

I hurried home from our training session and was able to get 4.5 miles in on the home treadmill. I ran the first mile 6:15 and the rest in 6:07 to barely under a 6 minute pace.

Kory,

You're really enduring a stretch of brutal weather there in Pocatello. Is this a typical winter, or have the conditions been somewhat worse than usual? I admire you for getting out on the roads and also for putting in the miles on the treadmill.

Kory, all I can say is you are a running animal. Nice job.

John K: This is pretty much how it is every winter. Expect we usually have a lot more snowfall. It's usually this cold every winter, and sometimes even colder. It's gotten 20 to 30 below here before.

Hows your weather?

From Brent on Wed, Jan 30, 2008 at 23:09:16

Kory, what doesn't kill you will make you stronger, brutal workout and impressive.

Paul Ivory: This running in the cold blowing snow is getting old. I can't wait for spring. I haven't see another runner outside running in about a week just my crazy old self.

I found out the Dell bought out Equallogic which is a iscsi SAN Storage system we have. Have you any involvement in the Storage area for Dell.

Brent:

I hope these workouts will make me better. Because sometimes I think I'm crazy.
