I got up at 5am and ran the Pocatello Marathon course 21.6 miles at an 6:40 pace in 2:23. The course has a new route change. Felt easy, but I wanted to run at a slower pace. Oh well! More details later busy, busy... I bought a road bike today and my wife a Mountain bike.

After we got home after buying a used sofa for my now free daycare room that were turning into a activity room, we had a flood in our basement from our front yard faucet where the copper pipe split open that runs downstairs in the family room. We had a water restoration company come and now it's drying out, but it's going to cost big bucks depending on the number of days we have to use their fans to dry it out. If we turn it into our insurance then they will just raise your policy when you have to renew so will have to pay out of pocket.

Oh Well, things happen and you have to have a good attitude about everything, because at least were alive.

Kory, great not to hear any statement about a sore knee. You call a 6:40 pace for over 21 miles a "slower pace", dude you are in a different league. Enjoy the bikes.

Wow, busy day. Hope everything end up ok with the house.

Jon - Right now we have 5 huge fans running

in a tornado circular motion that's suppose to suck the carpet dry from my family room and in my daughter's closet.

Will know tomorrow how things are looking, but such is life and having faith in God is all we need. Again congratulations on your awesome win today. I think I will come and run it next year for fun.

Sorry to hear about your pipe bursting in the house and that you can't use the insurance that you pay for (maybe time to find a new insurance company!).

From James on Sun, Jun 29, 2008 at 10:35:29

That sounds like quite the day! Sorry to hear about the flood, I hope it works out for you.

Nice run today, you are getting into excellent shape. Just think that your training pace today was faster than your marathon pace used to be not too long ago.

From wheakory on Sun, Jun 29, 2008 at 11:44:03

James - Thanks I really do feel good about running the course and know when I can really turn it on. I feel I really strong in the toughest part of the course. It was quite the day, but life goes on.

Jeff - We can use our Home owners insurance , because it covers floods. But the problem is if you use it, (and this on any Home owners insurance), this will be counted as a claim and the next time you renew they will raise it because of the claim.
