After sleeping 8 hours last night I woke up to a snow storm and cold and wind. The temperature was  around 25 degrees. . I ran 8.3 miles at an 7:44 pace in 1:07. I ran on soccer fields and softball complex field, and on dirt to have less impact on the knee. But my knee hurt the whole time, and at this point I need to take a couple days off.  I think my plan is not run until next Monday. Ogden is not looking good for me.

Sorry to hear about the knee. Probably good to take a few days off.

What were you doing running 8 miles? If the knee is still hurting as bad as you say, definitely take a few days off, stretch and take Ibuprofen. I was in this position 2 years ago about running the City of Trees (same type of pain, same timeframe from the race) and decided against it to hopefully avoid a worse injury...it was the right decision for me.

Dustin- I hope the time off will help. Thanks.

Jeff - I've taken Ibuprofen the last couple of days. I sat in our hot tub last night. I need to do more stretching though which I haven't been doing a lot of. I figured I can't train very good anyways with the knee hurting so I might as well take some days off.

I'm still expecting an excellent performance in Ogden. I'm not going to let this knock my confidence down. My fitness will still be there, and rest might be just as good as training, because I didn't take any time off from the SLC marathon.

I'm not going to let myself get discourage, because we have a big God that heals.
