| | Soooo I decided it was time to get back on the old blog due to popular demand and the need to track my miles on my shoes hah. Today was a bit of a weird workout. Started out with an easy three with the #originalsquad (shoutout to y'all) and then came back for a team speed workout on the bikes (winter strikes again) but unfortunately all the bikes got snatched up so I headed back out to wait for my turn and did another mile and a half and stretched a bit. Then I finally got back on the bikes and it was literally one of the hardest 12ish minutes of my life haha. Who knew such a short bike workout could be so exhausting?! The workout was 1min on at mile pace, 1 min rest, 90 sec on at mile pace, 30 sec rest, and then 30 on at mile pace -- 2 sets. After cooled down a mile with Mario. Then did 2 sets of lower body 1 weights and 10 min of abs. Didn't do hips cuz I really needed a break from those, but I did try unsuccessfully to do fire-log pose... and so it ends. Shoutout to anyone who read this far. You da real MVP.

| | Had an interesting workout with Guppy this morning. We went to the rec center bc the snow outside was RIDICULOUS. We warmed up a mile on the old tread mill, then did another mile on the treadmill. After that we got a little bored so we did a mile on the legacy center's teeny tiny track, then it was back on the treadmills for another mile, and then alternating until we hit six. 8:20 ap. We decided to take a mile off because we were going to hike/sled later, which was so much fun :)

| | Whew, first day of high mileage in a loooooong time, and MAN, it was sure high mileage haha. Really tho it wasn't a bad run, just real snowy once again. It ended up being just Guppy and I for most of it. We went up into Alpine and did a nice big loop, running a good half mile of it in knee deep snow cuz we are just that hardcore... and maybe a little dumb. We wish we could see where we actually ran in the spring cuz my guess is that it wasn't on a trail lol. Pace was still decent tho for the terrain... like 8:25ish i think. Legs and feet were tired by the end but twas a good run.

| | Another high mileage run today and a speed workout (wahoo...). warmed up about a mile to the old MCT and bc the track isn't exactly "runnable" rn we did our workout on the trail. It was 10x200m at mile pace with 2 min active rest inbetween and some speed squats inbetween the last few sets. Workout wasn't too hard, although it's hard to imagine running a whole mile at that pace #yikes. Average 200 was like a 40 seconds for me. After, it was just Guppy and I finishing up our mileage for most of the time again (shoutout to my best pal Gan cuz her calves are not doing so great right now. miss ya love ya <3). But nevertheless Guppy and I cranked out those miles... until Snowball. Ah Snowball, so cute, yet so troublesome. Snowball (as named by yours truly) is a dog (white retriever) that decided he really liked Gups and I when we were just about to turn around up in a neighborhood towards Suncrest. At first it was no biggie like, "oh my gosh it's so cute he likes to run with us!" but pretty soon we realized that Snowball was not planning on going home. We tried to lose the poor doggy several times and even tried knocking on some people's doors, but alas, it was to no avail. Snowball just loved us too much. So we decided our best option was just to keep him safe as he ran with us and we'd take him back to Skyridge and call the number on his tag or something (cuz there was no address on his caller... like what even?) So Snowball ran with us for a couple miles until we reached Smith's when we met this super nice lady who called the number on Snowball's collar and found an address for him and offered to take him home. (Come to find out Snowball's name is actually Oliver but whatevs) But seriously thank goodness we met that lady at that time bc idk if Jamie would have been too pleased with our new team mascot haha. I was a little bit sad to see Snowball go actually, especially cuz he distracted me from how dead my legs were hah. But yeah, we finished up the run. Not sure of the pace but it was probs somewhere around 8:30... idk tho.
ALSO huge happy birthday shoutout to my girls Kaylee and Hannah!

Ice Oval Indoor meet #1 (1 Miles) 00:05:32 | | Not too much to say about this one except it was a decent first race back. Ended up being 5 or 6 seconds off my PR but i'm okay with that. Definitely was fun to run the mile again and I felt really good overall. Looking back the third lap was my undoing, so I'm going to try to change that next time! After just finished up mileage with mario.
Also shoutout to everyone else who raced :)

| | High mileage today with 7 miles of it at "easy" pace. Which ended up being about 7:30-7:40 per mile. Whole run averaged about 7:55 pace including a really slow mile wu and a super slow cd plus it included the "kicker". Felt pretty good until the last couple miles... then my feet and knees were pretty much done.

Ice Oval Distance Challenge (1 Miles) 00:05:25 | | Second (and probably last) indoor meet of the season at the ice oval today. Overall it was a pretty good race for how my legs were feelin; I actually PR'd by only like two seconds, but hey, a PR is a PR. Raced in the second heat and ended up finishing third in the heat. There were some girls in my heat who said they were planning on running a 5:15 but no one in my heat even came close which I thought was strange. I think the first or second lap was a little slower than it should have been. I was happy with my kick and I think that's where those two seconds feel off. After Guppy and I finished a 7 mile cd (IMHO it was about 5 miles too long lol). We had a good talk and suffered together haha. Also Great job to everyone who raced, especially Chris who ran ALL FOUR events!! Like holy cow

| | Well... technically I had nine miles today, but only seven of those miles actually came to pass due to the fact that those nine miles had to be before 8:00am which is rough when you didn't got to bed until 12:30 the night before... anyway did the "extended pumpkin patch loop" with Guppy and it was wet and dark for 90% of our run but ya know what? It wasn't even bad.
|
Adidas Supernova Glide 8 Miles: 7.00 |

| | Low mileage and speed today. Did the two-mile workout: nine 400s with 2:30 rest in between and then two 100s all out at the end. Good workout hit 87 every time except for the last one was an 81.

| | Run felt nice and short today. Mostly ran with Gups and Libby (shoutout for her for joining the squad the past couple days!) not sure on the exact pace, probably about 8:15 ap.
Also my dad wants me to put in that he ran 10 "miles" this morning (more like 10 minutes lol)

| | Today was technically low mileage again, but as you can see it ended up being quite a bit more. Since lots of the crew is away at Simplot those of us who stayed back had a "somewhat difficult" workout. By somewhat difficult i actually mean quite hard. especially cuz I have a killer head cold that made breathing a bit rough haha. The workout was three sets of 90 second pickups in the gulley with the jog down as rest and like a minute of extra rest inbetween sets. And it just so happens that 90 seconds happened to be going all the way up the hill for me. The first set was up the north(ish) side of the gulley, the second set up the west(ish) side (just as bad...), and the third set was up the north side again. Wasn't feeling great today so times were a little rough, but I tried my best and finished the whole workout so that's a win. Afterwards I jogged back with some of the girls and coach (who is awesome for even running at all!) At the beginning of practice I was alittle worried that it would be a lonely day since all of the usual squad was gone, but it actually ended up being kind of good to talk to and run with some of the other girls.
But really HUGE shoutout to all those who ran at Simplot! Way to kill it so far!

| | Well unfortunately i'm still quite under the weather, but considering i didn't run yesterday and tomorrow is Sunday I decided that I'd better get a run in... no matter what haha. Thank goodness it was only low. Just did an out and back in Highland and although my pace was super slow I'm glad i got it done. Also some other unfortunate news is that I think it's time for my supernova's to be retired. They probably have close to a thousand miles on them which is A LOT.

| | Awesome Week workout number three today was whistle hill in "Falcon Gorge". Mile and a lil bit warm up over there and then 10 "surprise" whistle hills ranging anywhere from 10 sec to 30 sec. I felt pretty good although I didn't like the surprise times bc sometimes I was completely dead and sometimes I had a lot more left to give (like the very last one). Afterward finished up mileage.

| | Today was the somewhat famous/infamous 20x400 workout as the finale of Awesome Week. Warmed up a half mile and then waited FOREVER bc some people like to sleep in (you know who you are;). Finally got started with 5x400 at 5k pace with 1 min rest inbetween (my average pace for those was a 93), then 5x400 at goal 2 mile pace with 90 sec rest (av. pace 86), then 5x400 at current mile pace with 2 min rest (av. pace 81) then finished it up with 5x400 at goal mile pace or just whatever you could give. For those my paces were kind of all over the place: 80, 80, 79, 76, and last one was fire at a solid 70 haha. So yeah I felt really good about the wo; it was really consistent and i was feeling super good. After cooled down a mile and then had a delish breakfast with the team. Shoutout to all the nice parents who made it for us :)
And shoutout to everyone who completed awesome week!

| | Low mileage and pre-meet today for the duel meet tomorrow. Since I'm racing the mile for pre-meet it was two 400s at pace. First was so SO SLOW, like idek what happened but it was an 87 and I'm supposed to be hitting 80s... second one was a little better but still slow at an 83. Seriously don't know what was up with those. Hopefully tomorrow's laps will be significantly quicker... After did a grass mile which felt sort of good i suppose.

Corner Canyon Duel Meet (1 Miles) 00:05:33, Place overall: 2 | | Duel meet today. Suffice it to say this was not a great race, but I'm glad i did it so I can have a much better race next week at the invite. I just went way too easy and was way too comfortable the whole time. Also got passed at the very end because i wasn't paying attention and didn't kick much. So that was a bummer. But good job to everyone who raced! Also shoutout to Corner Canyon for having such a sick trail near the track to cooldown on.
ALSO... HUGE shoutout/congrats to Zack on his mission called to Argentina!!

| | Medium recovery today. Did a couple miles on the grass and then the rail trail 5 mile loop with Guppy and Bryn. Legs felt tired but it was still a decent run. Unshoutout to my body for not being okay with the heat hah. And way to go Gan for being brave and facing Mr. Clinton. What a champ.

| | Okay can I just say that I'm super not happy that practice on a Monday has to start at 2:45. But it guess that's just a #firstworldprob so it's whatever haha. Anyway, started with a five mile out-and-back bc our speed workout wasn't gonna start until practice started (smh). Legs were feelin pretty good. Then came back for the team wu and speed wo which, because I'm running the mile at the next meet, was an 800 wo. It was 2x400m with 4 min rest inbetween, the 3x200m with 2 min rest, and then 4x100m with 1 min rest. Times were like 73,72,35,34,35,15,15,14,14 so all under or at pace. Overall felt like a good workout once I got my legs going and wasn't too long which was a win. After cooled down 2.75 miles to end up at 9 for the day.
|
Saucony Zealot 2 Miles: 9.00 |
| |
| | High mileage recovery today. Did the double-dip loop with some of the squad and then did a few more miles on my own including one and a half grass miles. Long slow run today, but that's okay sometimes. As a sidenote, I don't think I'll be going to school tomorrow bc it's a certain day that I would be more than fine to miss. Also shoutout to myself for taking some small revenge out on Thom... twas a success.

| | It's that time again... HAPPY ROAST WATSON DAY!! So tbh it's actually been a pretty good day for the most part. Anyway took a mostly cross train day today just cuz i felt like my legs really needed it. Biked 75 minutes including a 30 min endurance ride, and then ran a mile at the end.

| | Longest I've run in awhile today. Technically I was supposed to cross train today but my bike is currently out of commission so... Anyway I ran 3.7 over to the AF rec center and then did a Zumba class (haha so weird but fun). Average pace was about 8:00, felt pretty good except for some minor pain in my right knee. Good day cuz running is gr8t.

| | Half mile wu, then some drills, and then we did this awful human knot thing... I'm shuddering just thinking about it. Then went 2.5 more, up Nuttal Drive and then looped back on the rail trail. Felt pretty good overall. 8:10ap. Glad to be running again and super Glad to have my girl Gan back :) but still missing the rest of the squad :'( might be kinda MIA the rest of the week cuz girls camp but crossing fingers for good trails :)

Saucony Zealot 2 Miles: 3.00 |
|
| | First run at camp this morning and boy was it BEAUTIFUL! We were up the canyon from Ogden in Liberty and there were some sick trails. Ran from the Ben Lommond trail head up...and up... and up... but it was worth it! seriously i want to move up there! I felt decent but by the time I got to turn around I felt like my lungs were going to explode a little haha. Fun run tho. Also turned out that later we would hike the same way up... #ripmylegs. 8:20ap.
|
Saucony Kinvara 7 Miles: 3.00 |
|
| | Another run at camp today, this time real early cuz I was helping with breakfast. Turns out tho, that when you try to leave the camp super early the gates are locked up tight. So i definitely had to scoot my way through the dirt under the fence...so fun. Anyway I accidentally forgot to do pickups yesterday so I did them today. it was just 6x1min pickups at 5k pace (about 6:07 mile), but after no speed for so long it was a lil rough. First four were on pace (i think) but the last two might have been kinda slow.
|
Saucony Zealot 2 Miles: 3.00 |
|
| | Well i'm ashamed to admit that I did not run today... but i did do abs if that counts for anything lol.
|
| | Awesome trail run with Gan this morning! After a lot of wrong turns we made it to the Bonneville Shoreline trail up close to the "Y". It is a pretty sick trail with an awesome view. Turns out tho that when the trail splits you should NOT take the small uphill one cuz that ends in you having to basically slide down the rocky mountain side for awhile. It was overall a really good time tho and I felt pretty good even tho our pace was pretty slow. Glad to be back running with a buddy too! Also after we got the BEST honey whole wheat bagels with strawberry schmear(?) from Einstein bagels and I highly reccommend.
|
Saucony Kinvara 7 Miles: 4.00 |
| |
| | Half mile wu and then back to the Kicker today... yay. Haha really tho compared to the dreamaker it's not so bad. Ended up running a 10:05 today, which according to the record board is a two second PR, but honestly I'm not sure how accurate the record board actually is cuz I think I ran under 10:00 last year. But oh well. Anyway I felt okay but I do think I could've gone harder, but I guess the first kind of "race" is always a little rough in gauging how fast you ought to be going. After ran back down to the park and then a half mile more to finish up at 4. Abs and hips.
|
Saucony Kinvara 7 Miles: 4.00 |

|
| | Mile wu and then our first tempo run - yay! haha. But it wasn't too bad. Just two miles at tempo pace, which for me is 6:05-6:45. First mile was a 6:39 and then second mile was a 6:20. Felt good and looking back probably could've gone a little faster the first mile, but I'm glad I was conservative. After did a couple more miles with Bryn, and then weights 4.
|
Saucony Zealot 2 Miles: 5.00 |
| |
| | Definitely sick today, but did abs and hips.
|
| | So 70-minute-saturday ended up being more like 100-minute-saturday... Biked to Highland Glenn Park then ran 6 on the MCT. Running was somewhat rough because I still have a rough chest cold so pace was like 8:15-20 or something. It was also really windy so that was not so fun. After running I rode my bike back home (very slowly haha). Did abs at like 10:30 at night.
|
Saucony Kinvara 7 Miles: 6.00 |
|
| | mile wu to cemetary and then a grass mile. After 3 more miles at easy pace. 7:35ap. Abs and hips after.
*also huge shoutout to Mario for being back from China! also the whole squad was there today so that was such a win.

Barefoot Miles: 1.00 | Saucony Zealot 2 Miles: 4.00 |
|
| | 1.5 mile wu to "falcon gorge" for a hill ladder workout today. 100,200,300,400 - 2 sets. Pace was supposed to be between 5:58-6:46, but I think the majority of them were faster than pace or on the fast end. Both 400s were 90s which was good and consistent so I was happy with it. After ran back (very slowly hah) and then did abs, hips, and some pushups cuz why not. Overall a good workout today.
Also, this will be my last blog post for a couple weeks, but no fear, I shall return!

| | I'm baaaaaack! So Ecuador was amazing except for the fact that I only got to run once, and just 2.5 miles. It was SUCH a sick run, but it was barely a run. So point being I'm very out of shape... however practice today wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be thank goodness. Mile wu to the cemetery and then whistle hills. Stomach felt a little queasy through out, but felt good overall and it was a solid wourkout. Finished up low mileage after, looping down over the overpass to Wine's park and then back up. After did abs and hips.
*HUMONGOUS shoutout to Baby Alvizo (aka Emre)
*Shoutout to all my awesome buddies who I missed so much while I was gone!

| | Mile wu and then a low (much needed) recovery run. Seriously this is the first time I've been sore from running in over a year. Included in mileage was 2 miles of barefoot grass running behind the school with the one and only Sami. Way great to see that girl. Finished up rest of mileage with the two-mile loop. 8:20ap

Saucony Kinvara 7 Miles: 6.00 |
|
| | Medium recovery today. I was definitely feeling super sore today so the miles was for sure on the slow side (8:30ap) but my body definitely needed it. Did the double-dip loop which is always a good one. After did some weights.
|
Saucony Zealot 2 Miles: 7.00 |
|
| | Mile wu to the junior high and then mile repeats - yipee! Honestly didn't feel so great on the wu so i was worried it was gonna be a super rough workout, but it ended up being okay once my legs got going. Workout was 3 mile repeats with 5 min rest inbetween. My splits ended up being 6:25, 6:32, 6:30, which I felt okay about. It was definitely a tough course cuz the grass was really long and there were a LOT of turns. After finished up mileage by doing 5 more at 8:20 pace up into highland then back down. Felt surprisingly good on the cd. Also HUGE shoutout to Allison Pray for doing the workout with us and then being my running buddy for the cd. What a cool girl.

| | Met Gups and Gan at Lehi today and did a good 6 mile out-and-back to the reservoir, and then Gan and I did a barefoot turf mile when we got back. Legs felt pretty darn tired and took a long time to warm up, so it was a good thing our route was flat as a pancake. 8:05ap.
|
Barefoot Miles: 1.00 | Saucony Zealot 2 Miles: 6.00 |

| | Mile wu and then the "Kicker" today. My time ended up being a 10:12 which I was not happy with considering my PR is 10:05. However for not running for almost three weeks I guess it could have been worse. I felt like I was going a good pace, but looking back I took it way to easy coming up the second hill and right after the hill. Get'em next time I suppose. After ran back down, did a lil more, and then did abs and hips.
|
Saucony Kinvara 7 Miles: 5.00 |

| | Mile wu and then low recovery run today. It's a good thing it was recovery cuz I needed it for sure. Legs just felt heavy, probs cuz the kicker yesterday, working all day, and not getting near enough sleep. 8:15-20ap. After did a weight workout (toes to bar got me good) and then abs and hips as per usual.
|
Saucony Zealot 2 Miles: 5.00 |
|
| | Mile and a half wu up to the Skyridge track for the 6-min test today. Felt pretty good going into it, but actually ended up getting a little less distance I think than last time, but not by much. So that sucks. Idk what happened. Definitely could've opened up more on the last lap I guess. After ran back then did about a mile more to finish. Abs and hips.

| | Lonely but pretty medium recovery today at Bear Lake. 8:15ap, legs were not feeling very good so it was kind of a struggle.
|
Saucony Zealot 2 Miles: 7.00 |
|
| | Another lonely run at Bear Lake today. Ran out toward the lake today which was pretty. Mile wu and then I tried to do the steady state run the best that I could but I was NOT feeling so good today so it was very very rough. Basically I could only do two miles of steady state, 6:55ap, which should have been not so bad, but for some reason I felt wrecked. After the two fastish miles I just tried to keep a decent pace for one more mile and then I really dropped the pace to between 8:45-9:00. Basically I was exhausted after this run even though I should have been fine so I don't know what's up. Probably nutrition and sleep but who knows. If anyone has some motivating words for me that would be much appreciated.

| | Last run at Bear Lake today, and although it was probably the slowest 5 miles ever, I felt better mentally than yesterday. I ran through Laketown a bit and then toward the lake, but instead of going all the way there I went on this cool dirt road through the trees that was mega-pretty and enjoyable. 8:35ap lol. Since it was high mileage today I planned on splitting up my run and doing four more when I got home... but that obviously didn't happen. Whoops.

| | Glad to be back at practice today. Mile wu to the cemetary for a "cross-country ladders" workout, which means 200,400,800,1600,800,400,200 at goal 5k pace with 1 min of rest after the 200 and then a minute more each time and vice versa going down. Overall it was a hard workout, but a good workout, and I felt pretty good. Everything was on pace (6:10 is my goal pace) or faster except the 1600 ended up being 6 seconds too slow so that was bummer. I seriously don't know how i'm gonna hold that pace in a race hah. Last 200m was pretty epic racing Mario. Shoutout to her for edging me out at the very end. After race back and finished our mile to end up one mile over mileage. Abs and hips to follow and like a gallon of water... #staythirsty
*shoutout to Austin cuz he leaves for Spain today. What a guy.

| | Easy pace run today, 7:30ap. Did the old country road willowcreek loop from the park which is exactly 6 miles so that's cool. Was not feeling super great... i think i was still just tired from Monday's workout, but it was still decently paced thanks to Gan and Tommy who were great running buddies. After did abs and hips.

| | "Skyrim" workout todayyyyy. Mile wu and then the wo was 8x600m burm repeats with 90 sec rest inbetween (that's not much fyi). Goal pace was 6:12-6:24 per mile, but per 600 it was basically to stay under 2:30 for me. It ended up being a really good workout and I hit some good splits: 2:18, 2:18, 2:24, 2:24, 2:24, 2:24, 2:24, 2:18. So very consistent hah. Legs were wrecked after but it was a good cd to the "watering hole" with Gangan.
Shoutout to Collin and Gan for helping to pace the wo :)

| | High mileage recovery today. I had to do a couple miles b4 practice cuz I had to be somewhere at 10. Those kinda sucked cuz I did them barefoot on super long grass, but it's probably good for meh. Then did 7 more at practice with Gan. We ran down to Lehi and I ran a couple miles on the track while she ran on the grass and then we looped back up to the park. 8:15ap. Felt alright, not wonderful.

| | Really really good early run today. Met Gan, Gups, and Mario at Mitchell Hollow kinda early and we ran on the MCT up towards PG. One super cool thing that happened was that we at one point were running the opposite direction of all the people doing the Timp half on the trail, and we ran right past good ole Kaylee and Rachel and got to cheer them on! what champs... We were all feeling pretty good today so average pace for the whole running including warm up was 7:55. Soliddd. After did abs and hips and some pushups cuz ya know, gotta get that grind on ;)

| | wu to the jr. high and then everyone's fave wo: mile repeats... yay. hah no really they are good for me. It was hard on the long squishy grass and with no one really that near me, but I felt proud of my workout. 6:10, 6:18, 6:27, 6:22. I was aiming for about 6:20 so it was pretty good. I was dead by the end tho. Finished up mileage pretty slow after.

| | 70 minute bike ride today. Got pretty much all the way dark like half way through so that was fun. Felt good tho. I love outdoor biking.
|
| | First day of camp today - wahoo! We went up to "Jeremy Ranch" near Park City, which was SO pretty! Also the weather was pristine. Anyway felt really good the first half of the run, but the last half my legs got so tired! 8:20ap which isn't horrible, but isn't great.

Saucony Zealot 2 Miles: 9.00 |

| | Second day of camp was a SUCCESS. Did our usual Deer Creek trail run which is always a good time, but for sure has a few hills hah. First half of run was pretty chill as far as pace goes. Second half Guppy and I sped up a lil and then last mile was pretty quick at a 7:04. 8:14ap for the whole run. I felt really good tho and it was def a solid wo. After did abs and hips.
Also lemme give a BIG ole shoutout to coach Jamie cuz it's her BIRTHDAY! She's the bestttt ever.

| | Last day of camp today :( we ran the Corner Canyon loop that we've done a couple times in years past, and is one of my all-time favorites. However my legs were wrecked before we started so it was a bit of a rough run hah. especially bc the water station was a mile from the start... idek about that one. But yeah, my legs were pretty dang tired at the beginning and I don't even know what to say about how my legs felt at the end because they felt like what comes after torture. but it really was a fun run. it was way pretty for the most part and my group was the greatest. the last couple of mile tho were super hard but we grinded hard and got em done. After Collin was the best and rolled me out so my legs hopefully won't feel so much like two rocks strapped onto my stomach. So shoutout to him! Also shoutout to Mario cuz she took one for the team and ate it hard once. She looked so hardcore after tho. Anyway it was a good last day of my last xc camp. wow that's so weird/sad to say. it's been a good "run" lol ;)

| | Got up early this mornin and ran by myself cuz I went to breakfast with ma HEFY fam (goodtimes...). Mile wu and then 10x60sec pickups with 90sec rest inbetween. Felt pretty good and the pickups were solid, until after the pickups then it was niiiiice and slow to finish up. Did my run over to the MCT and on that for a ways. I'm just hoping that my legs will start feeling good by Thursday for our first (ahhhhhh!) meet.

| | Last (very early) run with GanGan today 😭 (mario was there too) we started at lehi high and did the seven mile loop up past AF junior. My legs are seriously so shot (probably because I've gotten almost no sleep lately) so it was a little rough. Made it tho hah. After dids abs and some pushups cuz why not. Also good luck to Gan and Guppy at college; gonna miss those two lots and lots. </3

Murray Invite (2.95 Miles) 00:19:30 | | I'm baaaaaaaaack hah. Murray Invite today. It was a little weird in that the first mile my legs felt pretty bad, but when I hit the second mile they felt a lot better, less heavy. kind of the opposite of how it normally is. I felt good about this race overall... I still really want to get my average pace up a lot more by the end of the season but it was by far the best race of the season for me :)

| | Well first of all shoutout to the haters (*cough chuck*) who accused me of being a "fair-weather" blogger and ditching after one day... news flash: I'm still going strong.
Anyway's today's run was a good one. I just did this loop I had in my mind and didn't worry so much about the distance considering I went over yesterday. It was a good loop although the hill at the end just about killed me. I was also feeling pretty good considering how wrecked I felt yesterday.
Also final shoutout to myself for a job well done (at least I hope) on the ACT... the real question though is: was it enough. We shall see... We shall see.

| | Let's just all take a moment to appreciate that it will be fall soon, and then these miserable days of bone-melting runs will finally be OVER... Anyway today we ran the "kicker" and truth-be-told I didn't exactly "kick it" today. I sure tried hard, but I think the kicker was the one doing the kicking today. Legs just felt dead and breathing wasn't so good. So you tell me... what happened?! Ugh. Better luck (and stamina) to myself next time i guess. (my time was a 10:11 - yuck yuck yuck - ) After, to my eternal dismay, we had high mileage to finish, so that's what I did cuz I'm a champ. Did 4 miles out-and-back towards Smith's with some of the girls the finished my last two miles on the grass barefoot. I definitely was D-O-N-E by the end and I really lived by my motto to "stay thirsty" because I think after I drank like 5 gallons (give or take hah) of water.
***Also sidenote if any of my fans want to support my squad come watch my pal Lil Nug (aka Carolyn) kill it in the hoco pageant on Thursday night (she is doing the Napolean Dynamite dance which will be EPIC!)

| | Mile wu, drills, and then a 5ish mile loop. Technically it was high recovery today, but my legs weren't feeling too wonderful today so I decided to take a few miles off and bike for a bit instead.
