Got my pacers organized and up to the start and it was perfect conditions. cold and downhill! lol I started the race a bit slower this time trying to see if anyone would come up and run by me but no one did so I stayed at a 5:40 pace for the first 8 or so miles. There were some steep parts with darkness for some of it. My calves were tight after 3 miles but I was able to push to a 5 minute pace for the last 4 or 5 miles. It has some good drop at the end to help you finish strong. Fun to see everyone out pacing and racing! I heard so many awesome stories! I will now taper my pathetic training schedule to run SGM. It is going to be super competitive down there this year from the sounds of it. I hope to do well!

Nice job, I kept thinking you'd come run the marathon course backwards but never saw you.

I wish I could run a 1:09 and win a half off of "my pathetic training schedule"... Nice going!

Very nice Walter! I can't imagine running 5 minute miles during a half, or at all:) Great job!

Great race, Watler! You are looking very strong for STG in two weeks. I look forward to seeing you there.

From Walter on Sun, Sep 23, 2012 at 17:33:28 from 97.163.17.40

Thank you all for your comments! It was a very scenic course and I was surprised I could push myself as much as I did without anyone around me. St. George will be fun.

From Dave Taylor on Sun, Sep 23, 2012 at 20:05:17 from 174.23.84.221

Wow that elevation profile looks like Nebo! You were holding back :)

Maybe I should have come run with you instead of chasing antelope around Parker Mountain all day...

From TBean on Sun, Sep 23, 2012 at 21:49:09 from 97.126.213.17

Another solid race! Good luck at the SGM.

From Walter on Sun, Sep 23, 2012 at 21:54:44 from 97.36.80.179

Clyde, I hope the heat stays at bay. Cold weather seams to be my help lately.

Dave, I did hold back once I realized no one was there to push me. You would have killed me for SGM. Lol

Tbean, thank you. I will taper and start eating for 2 now.
