Went to watch my hubby's cousin in the Chicago marathon.  We set up our plan so we could see him a bunch of times and then I went with his wife and son to run with him for a couple miles.  He wanted to run @ 11 min pace and was ahead of that pace for the first 1/2. When we were waiting for him at mile 20 we waited....and waited...and waited.  He came through way later than expected.  Leg cramps.  He shuffled along and we shuffled with him for 4 miles (I'm not counting it).  It was also really hot (over 80) and he was pretty disappointed.

I probably walked over 10 miles today.  But it's always fun to watch the runners.  There was a guy who ran the whole race wearing a giant Eiffel Tower.  It looked heavy.

Ahh poor guy. I feel his pain, acutely. That's awesome that you guys were there to shuffle with him1

This weekend was a bad one for marathons everywhere, seems like. I wonder if that guy did training runs with his Eiffel tower costume.

The costumes some people wear at marathons. I don't know how they do it. I have enough trouble just running in shorts and a T-shirt.

Glad you got to run with him. Didn't seem like a good weekend for Chicago!
