Luke's battled ended on Friday night, a little before 9.  Even though you are never prepared for the death of a 10 year old, most of us had at least a little time to arrive at acceptance of it.  Since then, we have been grieving the only way we know how:  together.

Thank you for your kind words and your prayers.  Please continue to pray for those who love him.

In running news:  17 miles is a long time.  The last 2 miles was the hardest.

My condolences Tracy, and big internet hugs. I'll be praying.

I am sorry to hear about Luke. At least he is no longer in pain. 17 miles is a long time, longer then I have even ran, good job.

Sorry to hear that, what an unfair deal. Wishing you peace...

That HM next month will seem like a sprint to you after 17, nice job.

I'm so sorry that Luke didn't make it. He is definitely in a better place, but it is hard for those who are left behind. I hope they find some comfort and that your great big long run was therapeutic for you. ((Hugs))

I'm so sorry about Luke - it's so hard losing someone at such a young age. I agree with Carolyn about it being hardest now for those left behind. Will be thinking about Luke's family and friends.

17 Miles - that sounds definitely challenging!!! Did you do any fueling on the way? Way to go (literally!) :)

I did not refuel, other than one drink at 8 miles and 12 miles. That may have been why the last 2 miles were too hard.

I stop off at the house at a set time because I hate carrying stuff with me, but I decided to just run all the way through, knowing that if I stopped, I probably wouldn't start again.

I'm so sorry about Luke and getting to this so late in the week. :(

Glad to see your ran 17 I'm sure your grief helped you to power through. Luke is painfree now.

Tracy, so sorry about Luke. These young little cancer patients teach us so much and they are so strong. Our school district is small and last June we lost one of our little 2nd graders to a brain tumor. Morgan fought so hard for a year and touched so many lives. The community and school felt the loss so deeply. She was quite the little artist and used her drawings to raise alot of money for cancer research. Her family has continued to have fundraisers to keep Morgan's ministry alive. In fact they are having a 5K this weekend. I will continue to lift Luke's family in prayer.
