Twas a very fun day at the Moab 1/2 Mary. I got up at 2:am and made my way to Moab.....Got there just in time to pick up my bib and head over to the bus, load up and get up the canyon so I could wait an hour and a half to start the race! At least it wasn't a really crumby cold wet day!! It was a windy day, 20 mile per hour in your face crap!!!!

But, I went into the race just wanting to have a pretty fun run, somewhat competitive for my old man age division.....and that's what I got...

GOOD JOB slicksters!!! Another race under your belt, another check off your 60th birthday-gift-to-self list! You're AWESOME!!! :)

Onward and upward to Bostob!

From RAD on Sat, Mar 19, 2011 at 22:51:22 from 208.88.9.225

Nice work Slick! Hitting those paces with a 20 mph headwind isn't easy!! I also can hardly believe you got up at 2AM!! I would drive down and sleep in my car before I got up that early. Are you staying tonight or did you drive right home?

From Tom Slick on Sat, Mar 19, 2011 at 22:58:42 from 69.171.160.190

Yo RAD-I just didn't feel like staying overnight, before or after the race. I was home by about 5:30p. The getting up at 2:a was easy, it was the going to bed at 6:p to get some sleep that was rough!!!!

From Teena Marie on Sun, Mar 20, 2011 at 10:57:23 from 74.211.10.13

You are NOT 60!!!!!!!!

Very nice race!!!

Btw, how is your Vette?

From Tom Slick on Sun, Mar 20, 2011 at 11:16:47 from 69.171.160.88

Teena - Oh thank you so much for the compliment. I rolled over last month and ran into the bathroom and looked in the mirror and said, Who the hell is that old man looking back at me??? I may be 60 but I certainly don't feel like it? And I'm fighting it tooth and nail scratching at the wind. Sure glad I've got some hair left on my head!

The '63 Vette should be ready for paint mid summer and sunny, sunday rides...

Excellent race. I saw you coming in as I was running back on the course and you looked as strong as ever. Well done.
