Please excuse this poor race report, I'm tired!  I got up at 1:30 this am and got my tired old man butt to the Ute stadium parking lot by 3:am and totally missed Lark cause I was in plain old street clothing.....ya, like he was supposed to recognize me out of my flag outfit?????? Oh well I caught up with him and Maynard up at the 7400 foot starting line elevation and had a pretty great conversation about what the hell we were doing there. The Race was and is still kind of a blurr to me. I remember that my right foot starting hurting at about mile three and it didnt let up till I got home and had a a good stiff shot or two or three of JD on the rocks. I remember running with Maynard off and on and this Canadian chick from the Marathon Maniacs till about mile 11 or twelve where I had to visit the Green Timple of Doom, don't need to expound on that!
I was sure glad that the sun never got to come out till way after the race. The entire race was cloudy and over cast so we never got cooked out. I "think" it never got over 80 degrees during the race.

I continued to run on down the canyon, never catching the Maynardster or Ms. Sue, the Canadian, she sure was cute, glad she took the time to even talk to me....Oh, well, I slugged it out with my injured foot and managed about a 4:26:22, 5th place in my age division. Not a steller time but it will have to do for a great training run for some of my upcoming marathons. Glad I did it, now its time to get ready for the Provo 1/2 and the Park City full the second and third weekends of next month.....sorry about the crappy report......
