Long-Term Running Goals:

Continue running as often as I can, as far as I can, as fast as I can. Teaching my kids (by example) the rewards that come from putting in the work. Very slowly get to 50 states.

Personal:

I'm married, with two sons, 18, and 19.

I started running because someone dared me to.

I ran my first race 3 days after my 40th birthday. (Disney)

3.5 miles. hood route. 6 am start. I took the last couple of days off because I thought I was injured. My left hip / thigh really hurts when I run. And still does.

I tell my coworkers about this and they laugh hysterically. They say "You say the same things before every race!"

Yeah, but this time I mean it. I'm going to do terrible.

They say sure, sure.

12.9 miles. hood route to legacy trail to venice avenue and back. left quad pain was manageable. run @ 8:20 pace. 

Then Tommy's soccer team beat a higher ranked team from St. Pete 1-0. 4 starters, including the captain, were missing from Tommy's team. Tommy spent the majority of last season on the bench. Tommy got the goal. The goal ricocheted off of 2 defenders before going in. I don't usually think about divine intervention, but this was one of those moments. The whole thing playing out like it did was really unbelieveable.
