Short-Term Running Goals:

2024 GOALS:

to not get fat

Long-Term Running Goals:

Continue running as often as I can, as far as I can, as fast as I can. Teaching my kids (by example) the rewards that come from putting in the work. Very slowly get to 50 states.

Personal:

I'm married, with two sons, 18, and 19.

I started running because someone dared me to.

I ran my first race 3 days after my 40th birthday. (Disney)

Ok, you’ve got Towpath out of the way, now what’s up next????

From Tom K on Wed, Nov 21, 2018 at 09:44:25 from 47.206.60.114

I'm not sure, Slick.

Short term, I'd like to build up some speed, to try to get back to the paces I ran in short races about 5 years ago.

Long term, Since I "barely" missed the 3:05 cutoff for New York qualifying at Towpath (typed in sarcastic font), and the 3:20 cutoff for Chicago qualifying, a buddy of mine was talking about signing up for both Chicago and New York lottery entry. The thinking is we probably wont get into both, and we probably wont get rejected from both. But that is way off. I've got other fish to fry first.

Hey check out a book by Hal Higdon called "RUN FAST", he's got some great speed training drills. And of course look at Bart Yasso's 800s that I found in Amby Burfoot's book, The Complete Book of Running. Both books can be found on Amazon or EBay, cheep!

I'm with you Tom K! I'd like to get back to my speeds of 5 years ago too!
