Short-Term Running Goals:

2024 GOALS:

to not get fat

Long-Term Running Goals:

Continue running as often as I can, as far as I can, as fast as I can. Teaching my kids (by example) the rewards that come from putting in the work. Very slowly get to 50 states.

Personal:

I'm married, with two sons, 18, and 19.

I started running because someone dared me to.

I ran my first race 3 days after my 40th birthday. (Disney)

7.5 miles. Hood route. 5:45 am start.

6:40 pm start. 5.5 miles during football practice. Hood route.

8:30 pm start. 0.4 miles around the block after football to get my miles to 60. I don't know if that run provided me any physical benefit, but ending the week with 59.6 is just unacceptable.

Kids' Football is my life all weekend. Spouse is out of town and it is Jamboree weekend - kind of like pre-season. Tommy has to be at the field 6:45 am for weigh in. then wait 2 hours, then a half hour scrimmage. then wait an hour, (while I'm in the concession booth), then another half hour scrimmage. In short, tomorrow is shot for running.

Then I do the whole thing all over again on Sunday with Johnny! I plan on running Sunday night when spouse gets back.

Man, you are really on a roll lately! Knocking them all out before Saturday...anticrastination? I'm submitting that word to Webster.

FYI, 59.6 rounds nicely to 60.

That's 2 things you've taught me on Tom's blog today. That's impressive considering I already know everything.

Signing up for the concession stand was a bad idea. That was one frantic hour. I've never worked a cash register before. WHERE'S MY CHEESY FRIES?! Next home game i'm doing the chain gang.

foodservice -- a whole new level of stress.

i hope your shoes didn't get nacho cheese splats on them because that stuff stains like you wouldn't believe. and it literally eats leather.

Plus, Gordon Ramsey was at the concession stand yelling at Tom the whole time.
