EASY recovery run.  I decided to run outside this morning.  It has been my first run in the dark all year.  I was a bit worried about the road construction in front of my street, but I brought my head lamp and took it really slow (hence the 10:27 first mile).

About mile 2, I had some MAJOR GI issues.  I was almost bush desperate.  But I made it to the rec center.  The front desk lady must have seen the look of despair on my face and waved me right in.  Thank you front desk lady.  Sweet relief.

I felt much better after that!  Still tried to keep the pace slow.  My lower legs are still achy.  Will they ever toughen up?  Still undecided about SL Half.

Nice outdoor run! I hate hate hate GI issues. Why must we have them? Don't our bodies know we are trying to treat them well?!? grrr. Thank goodness for amazing, helpful people.

Thanks for always being a faithful poster!!! I'm just nervous about racing on Saturday, then heading into another big mileage week. I know you are doing the same thing.... But I'm not nearly as tough as you are :) I'm just craaaazzzzzyyyyyy!!

sorry about the GI issues, but i'm glad front desk lady was kind. that situation is a runner's nightmare...gold's gym turned me away once and i was forced to walk home (nothing else was open yet). oh the pain!

i think you should run the half -- just don't pound it too hard because the downhill can beat you up. i think it's the perfect thing for your ogden training. just make sure to take the recovery seriously -- maybe one extra easy day next week. good luck. if you do decide to run it, i hope to see you there!

Dark runs are a way of life for me, good job. And run poops are the worst. It was nice there was an available dumping station near by.

I was going to suggest what Allie did. Run your goal MP on the course, or race it and take Mon easy or x-train and/or Tues easy and x-train. Then you'll be ready to jump back in. With 22 on Saturday you only need 4.5 miles/day for 4 days to hit 40 for the week. So, see...you can totally do it :)

You gals sure are convincing! Too bad, you're both lightening fast! Rachel, I was planning on doing 47 miles next week. I may not be able to pull everything off. I'm going to decide tomorrow while I eat my lunch!
