nice and overcast this morning - yea!

took the long run easy and it was ok.  Still lost 6lb of water weight.  All that salty bbq really bloated me - but at least I had plenty of h20 in my system.  I took along 2 more electrolyte tabs and popped them after an hour.  I don't know if they help, but I had them...

Salty BBQ sounds good!

Nice run! :)

Nice run. I've experimented with electrolyte pills and am not sure if they do me any good.

Thanks Teena! -

Rhett - I got these for free so I figured I'd use them. I take them during ultras if they have them at the aid stations. They must help to some degree. It is hard for me to tell if any of these products do me much good.

smart man to give all the bells and whistles a try out there on your long training runs so you have no surprises under race conditions. Keep up the great training man......

Slick - you are awesome, man. I wish I had 50% of your commitment.

Show me the way...

Nicely done. I take electrolyte tablets, too.

6 lbs of water weight? You hardly weigh anything to begin with...is that more than 10% fluid loss? Smart to take the electrolytes, I think!

I take them if I'm only using water or for running in very hot condition when I'm perspiring more!

From timp on Mon, Aug 09, 2010 at 19:06:40 from 136.182.2.26

thanks Smooth - It is a significant amount of water loss, yeah. Just under 5% I think.

Which electrolytes do you use?

From Smooth on Mon, Aug 09, 2010 at 23:44:45 from 174.23.203.161

I use the freebee samples from races, Hammer electrolyte caps. I also use the Salt Stick, that is the one Maynard introduced me to.
