Sounds fun. I'm thinking about camping out the night before the Buffalo Run 50k in March. I paid a couple of dollars extra for that option, just in case.

sounds fun - is that the one on antelope island?

From DonGardinero on Tue, Oct 26, 2010 at 13:35:33 from 75.162.166.27

Yeah, that's the one. I've been wanting to do it for a few years now and finally signed up for it. Last year the registration closed the day before I tried to register, so I missed out on it. I did, however, go out to the island to watch Maynard and Fly run the 50k, which was cool. I think that's when Fly debuted the infamous pineapple shirt.

cool - that will keep you logging the miles and long runs this winter for sure. that'll be your ultra debut?

From DonGardinero on Tue, Oct 26, 2010 at 13:57:50 from 75.162.166.27

Yep, my first ultra. I've signed up for a couple of ultra's in the past and ended up having to drop out for one reason or another. I was signed up to run the Pony Express 50 miler last weekend, but after my issues at the Park City marathon and St. George, my training was lacking, so I dropped out. The race director was nice enough to roll my entry to next year.

that sure was nice of the RD.

Sounds like a fun weekend. You had a great race considering your super high milage without any taper. You're going to have an amazing Half when you are all rested up and ready to fly.

thanks Rhett - I hope so. This week is so low mile it is like a vacation from running...
