| Today I ran up the Canyon again. This time I ran for 50 minutes up. I ran at a faster pace this week, even though I went 10 minutes longer. My pace was 7:32. I warmed up one mile and ran down a couple miles. I drove the rest of the way down. I felt pretty good doing it. | Add Comment |

AM: I ran with Gemachu today. We ran down to Sugarhouse Park, ran in the park a little bit, and then went back. I kept it easy today, 7:31 pace. It ended up being nine miles. Even though we started at 7:30, it was still too hot. We had to stop for water at the park and run through the sprinklers! My mile splits were pretty even, and the run was pretty easy. The only hard thing was all of the uphill was on the way back! My mile splits were: 7:32, 7:19, 7:16, 7:16, 7:14, 7:36, 7:34, 7:43, and 6:50. PM: I later went to the track to do some sprints. I did 6 times 90 meters. My fastest was 11.570. They felt pretty good. I did a mile warm up, and then cooled down about 3.5 miles. I cooled down at about 7:35 mile pace or so. There were quite a few people at the track for how hot it was outside. I even saw two guys there who looked like pretty good runners. I usually only see really slow joggers! On a side note, I am almost finished with Once A Runner. Has anyone read it? I like it so far.

| So today I did a Tempo Run. I was going to do six miles, but decided to cut it to five. I didn't really have a goal time, I just wanted to see what I could do on a longer tempo run. I wanted to at least go under six minute mile pace. I went to Jordan River Parkway to do it. I started out with a slow two mile warm-up.
My first mile was 5:38. I started out a little bit too fast, but it felt pretty good. My second mile was 5:42. It wasn't too hard, but I wasn't feeling that great. The third mile was where I started to get fatigued. My quads were sore from doing sprints last night, and they started to get tired. I pushed and got a 5:48. My fourth mile was just bad. My quads were really tired by now, and going up the biggest hill (not very big though) on this mile didn't help. I ran a 6:04. I was going to run six miles, but at this point, I knew my legs couldn't handle that. So I decided to push hard for one last mile. My last mile was 5:41. So my mile splits were: 1: 5:38 2: 5:42 3: 5:48 4: 6:04 5: 5:41
After that I cooled down a couple more miles. Another thing that could have contributed to my fatigue is that I didn't get much sleep last night. I should of gone to bed earlier. It was too hot when I did it. But overall, it was pretty good.

| I took it easy today. Seven miles at a 7:49 pace. I am still sore, and pretty tired. My legs were just tired, and I didn't really feel like going any faster. | Comments(2) |

I didn't get my run in until tonight. I was working all day. I got a job working at the Energy Solutions Center for two days helping with the Blaze game. It was pretty cool. I got to stand on the field and see a bunch of players. (I wish it had been a Jazz game though!)
I was going to do 8 miles pretty easy, maybe a 7:00 pace, but I changed my mind mid-run. My first mile was 7:04. I picked it up a little from there, and saw that I did a 1:25 next 400. I felt good, so I kept going at a pretty good pace. My mile splits were: 7:04, 6:09, 6:06, 6:17, 6:06, 6:24 (uphill), and 5:54. I jogged the last mile in 7:37. It didn't feel very hard, and my legs felt much better than yesterday. I was surprised how good I felt. I am also going to start keeping track of my weight lifting. Today I did four sets of ten push-ups to start out. I then did two sets of deadlifts. 2 by 265, and 5 by 245. I then did some ab work.

| I was planning on doing a long run, but I didn't have enough time. I had to go to work early, so I did 5.5 miles in the morning, and 6.5 at night. In the morning I ran at a 7:18 pace. I was tight at first, but I felt good by the end. My splits were 8:11, 7:07, 7:10, 7:10, 6:51, and 3:30 for the last half mile. I went out on Wasatch Blvd.
Later, I didn't feel that great. I wasn't too tired, but I felt really sick to my stomach. I don't think I waited long enough after eating. I went through Tanner Park. I went pretty slow, 7:59. It was an interesting run though. I ran by a wedding reception, had several dogs jump up on me, and scraped my knee going down a hill. It wasn't my favorite run.
