Hope I am doing this tapering thing right. :)

***********

One of my friends posted this today. I thought it worth sharing.

An elderly Cherokee Native American was teaching his grandchildren about life… He said to them, “A fight is going on inside me, it is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One wolf is evil—he is fear, anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, competition, superiority, and ego. The other is good—he is joy, peace, love, hope, sharing, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, friendship, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith. This same fight is going on inside you, and inside every other person, too.” They thought about it for a minute, and then one child asked his grandfather, “Which wolf will win, Grandfather?” The Elder simply replied, “The one you feed.”

I'm no taper expert, but it looks good to me!

I think you are doing it right. Good call on mixing in some faster (MP) running, that will hopefully help you legs from getting that "stale" feeling. Do workouts that you are good at and make you feel confident. You can't really make any big fitness gains at this point. Its more about getting sharp (physically AND mentally).

I can't believe it is already taper time for Boston. It is just starting to hit me that I'm not going this year. Hopefully it won't bum me out too much. I'm way excited to follow you guys on line though and read your amazing reports.

Thanks you guys! :)

Maybe tapering could actually be fun. I like the idea of doing the workouts that make me feel confident and strong.

(I'm bummed that you and Doone won't be there, Rhett.)

Sounds like you're doing everything right! Best of luck in Boston! (I'm a little sad I'll miss the festivities this year, but I'll be watching all of my buddies -- especially you!)
