***************

Bought a 6 lb medicine ball today so that I could do the core exercises in the latest RW issue. We do some therapy with the medicine balls at the clinic and I have been wanting one at home. LOVED IT!!!

20 minutes Core Workout with Ry (No, Smooth ... it's not what you think!!!! It was with a medicine and stability ball!!!) We had so much fun!! Mostly laughing at each other, which was probably the best abs workout of all! :)

Hip strengthening exercises.

Love the workout Teena! I love hill training. How's the leg feeling?

From Lyman on Tue, Jan 05, 2010 at 22:16:49 from 75.169.110.63

Those are some serious inclines. Heartbreak hill aint got nothing on you. Great run!

From Smooth on Tue, Jan 05, 2010 at 22:17:53 from 174.23.217.47

ARE YOU SERIOUS?!!! 8:34 @ 6% incline at mile 7.4-7.8?!!! HARD HARD HARDCORE, SSF!!!! Heartbreak hills here you come!!!

VERY AWESOME!!! :D

Miss and love you sooooo much!!! :)

Hey guys!! I have no idea where even heartbreak hill is in the Boston Marathon. All I know is that this workout is suppose to simulate the good section of hills there. I need to go look up the course. If I remember right don't they fall towards the end? I have a LONG ways to go to be ready. BUT ... I did not have to push to hard or stop at all during this workout, AND there was no pain!!! These are all good signs for me! :)

From DonGardinero on Tue, Jan 05, 2010 at 22:20:54 from 152.216.7.5

Good grief!!! How do you run those paces on such steep inclines? Amazing. Nice job

From Maynard on Tue, Jan 05, 2010 at 22:33:26 from 71.213.5.207

Mile 21-ish I believe. Haven't run Boston, but I long too...

Anyways, that's great! I'm getting reacquainted with my treadmill even as I type this. I can turn it on and get up to speed and manually adjust things, but I'm working on figuring out the programs. Maybe I'll do some speedwork or hills tomorrow! =:o

From Smooth on Tue, Jan 05, 2010 at 22:43:04 from 174.23.217.47

There are a chain of four hills in Newton, starting somewhere between mile 17-18 ending with Heartbreak hill at mile 21.

The hills aren't that steep, just where it's at that kills.

The beauty of TM run is the ease of adjusting speed and incline and nice clime/environmental control. It's less boring if you mix things up. Have FUN, Maynard doing speed and hills on the TM tomorrow!

SSF!!! GOOD practice and Heartbreak simulator! We'll have to find a long run route to simulate the Boston course sometime! LLL LLL LLL LLL LLL LLL

From Kelli on Tue, Jan 05, 2010 at 23:05:21 from 71.219.96.112

I do not even want to think about the hills at mile 20+, yuck. Super workout, though, I am very impressed.

From Teena Marie on Tue, Jan 05, 2010 at 23:24:36 from 174.52.45.85

Dale ... It wasn't too bad. I was trying to run this program MUCH faster last year before Boston ... not surprised that I got injured, come to think of it!

Bradley ... I still haven't figured out all of the bells and whistles of my treadmill. You have inspired me though. I am going to test out some of the programs on there next time! :)

SSF ... Yes, we NEED to do that!!! :) Can hardly wait!!!! :) :) :)

Kelli ... Don't be impressed. The only part that was kind of hard was the 6% inclines, and those were so short that it wasn't that big of deal. I am so scared to really push myself right now. That is probably a good thing though. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't totally easy ... although it would be for you!!! :)

From Kelli on Tue, Jan 05, 2010 at 23:26:50 from 71.219.96.112

You did two full miles at a 6% incline, that is not short!

From Teena Marie on Tue, Jan 05, 2010 at 23:30:16 from 174.52.45.85

NO I DIDN'T, Kel!!! Where are you getting that from??? Did I enter it wrong? Hold on. I entered it right: 7/10ths of one mile silly girl!!!!

From Smooth on Tue, Jan 05, 2010 at 23:32:10 from 174.23.217.47

SSF!!! Laughing SOOOO HARD!!! Let it be known that Teena has NO IDEA what Smooth thinks! Don't EVER entertain such naughtiness!!! :) :) :)

Seriously, I can picture Ry laughing AT you! 6 lbs is like nut'n for him! Glad you both got the best abs workout! :) :)

From Teena Marie on Tue, Jan 05, 2010 at 23:48:28 from 174.52.45.85

Oh Smooth!!! Now I am laughing again!!!! My abs are going to be so sore tomorrow!!! :)

From Kelli on Wed, Jan 06, 2010 at 13:55:21 from 71.219.96.112

Okay, I did read it wrong. I was not looking at the numbers on the side, i thought each one was a full mile. However, I am still impressed, 7/10ths of a mile is still LONG on that incline and at that speed!
