Happy Monday. :)

Update: So here is something crazy. Just got a call from someone in Camp Tracy's med tent. Payton just passed out ... no warning signs ... nothing ... out of no where he just went down to the ground. They were not doing anything strenuous. This is crazy: Friday we had the episode with Livvy (see post) and today this with Payton. It must be some kind of virus, don't you think? Payton does not want to come home and says he feels fine. Ry is on his way there to pick him up anyway. This is just nuts.

Wow, that's scary. I hope they will both be ok.

Very scary. Hope that everything is alright and it is just a bug.

That is really weird! Definitely something worth looking into. Are they dehydrated and/or have electrolyte issues due to this new phase of heat we are now having? Very confusing for sure. :(

From Teena Marie on Mon, Jun 27, 2011 at 13:09:57 from 67.2.101.26

Thank you for the well wishes everyone. I will pass them on to both Livvy and Payton.

Brooke~ I think you are right on. They have been outside so so so much. You have seen my kids ... they are toothpicks and don't store a lot in their little bodies. That just makes sense. I suppose the simplest explanation is often the right explanation. Thank you. :)

I hope you have it all figured out, and it is just the heat...still so scary!

From RAD on Wed, Jun 29, 2011 at 19:21:28 from 98.202.17.113

Oh, I hope it is just dehydration! Scary! Not a phone call any parent wants to get. I hope things are better today and that you've gotten it figured out.

From Bonnie on Wed, Jun 29, 2011 at 19:24:47 from 71.223.179.223

oh man, how scary. I use a sport electrolyte mix by the Emergan-C folks. One packet makes a huge bottle of electrolyte, and it doesn't really taste like anything. The Emergan-C packets have a lot of electrolytes too ...

I hope everyone is ok.

HEAT, it has to be the culprit! Tell Livvy to quit wearing black (that comment still cracks me up!)

Hope all is well today!

Thanks all for your concern. :)

Payton seems to be doing absolutely fine. I think it was likely a case of locking his knees!!! :)

As for Livvy, that one has a bit more worried. We are starting to think that it might have something to do with her thalassemia. She has thalassemia minor, but we are learning that under certain conditions that trait may manifest itself in ways similar to what happened on Friday. We are trying to make an appointment with a specialist but need a referral from her pediatrician first. Her pediatrician is wonderful but would like to rule out some other things before sending her to a hematologist specializing in children. Keeping my fingers crossed.
