I need to strengthen those areas more as well. Or was told to by my PT. Know any good ones?

YES!!!! Simple and fantastic!

Do you have a resistance band by chance?

From Lily on Thu, May 12, 2011 at 20:02:33 from 67.199.178.210

I sure do! :)

Okay, this guy looks a little weird doing these, but these exercises really work. However, I think it is better to lower the theraband to between your knees and ankles (about 2/3rd up from the ankles, 1/3 below the knees). Do 3 sets of about 20 feet both side to side and forward and back.

I also love this exercise with and without a stability disk.

It is even better if you kick out of the bent leg position to the side straight leg parallel to the floor.

Now here is a kinda funny but beneficial exercise for your glute lateral rotators. Okay, let me see how I can explain this in a nice way. Hmmm ... you know the muscles you use when you try and hold in a stinky? Well, while you are brushing your teeth, or sitting at a traffic light, pretend that you are holding in a stinky. Flex it hard and long. I know it sounds simple, and it is, but it is hugely beneficial.

There are lots more. I could go on forever. But these are a few super easy ones that work wonders. :)

(If you have resistance tubing there are a ton more.)

(I meant 20 feet, NOT 20 minutes, if you read my previous comment before I edited it.)

Teena baby, it looks like you've got a great taper going on, can you hold out for 7 days and 23 hours???

From Andy on Fri, May 13, 2011 at 14:27:42 from 159.212.71.199

You are going to be a very entertaining PT.

You just watch Andy, you are going to catch yourself doing that exercise now!!! :) :) :)

So, I am getting very nervous about Ogden. Is there any chance at all that you will be in the Ogden area one week from tomorrow and will want to get some miles in? Perhaps, let's say, the last 10K or so of the course????

From Andy on Fri, May 13, 2011 at 14:46:14 from 159.212.71.199

I do the exercise all of the time. Just didn't realize it was considered exercising.

I have been trying to figure out a way to get up there next week but don't think I can make it work because my girls have soccer and softball games that day.

Oh man ... that comment made me laugh!!!! :) :) :)

I totally understand. You are seriously so wonderful to even consider it! :)
