Race: St. George Marathon (26.2 Miles) 03:05:00

27.000.000.000.0027.00

Woke-up feeling pretty stressed about how tight I still was from the expo but, tried to ignore how I felt due to not being able to do much about it.  I kept telling myself I have had many runs in the past that turned out great where I started off feeling like crap.

Met everyone in the front of the Rec Center and drove up on the bus together. Once we got up to the start I left Kendra and went into the elite coral, went to the bathroom, warmed-up and chatted with everyone. I felt like I was in a daze, I just kept thinking about how jacked I felt and was trying to ignore it.

My goal was to just take it easy as possible and see if I could work through it - it didn't really work out too well.

So here's the breakdown of the race:

1. 6:06

2. 6:11

3. 5:57

4. 5:50

5. 5:51

6. 5:48

7. 5:50

8. 6:57 - Going up Veyo I really felt like I was feeling beat-up already.

9. 6:35 - Cresting the hill was the beginning of the end. Everything was feeling forced.

10. 6:20 - Started running with this guy from SLC and couldn't hold onto him.

11. 6:31 - Just couldn't get myself going. My legs just felt trashed.

12. 6:18 - Started pumping my arms more just to get my legs going.

13. 5:58 - Got to the Half Mark 20 seconds slower than last year, except I knew I was in trouble by how hard I was having to work.

14. 6:06 - Started feeling crampy in my calves which made me even more stressed.

15. 5:57

16. 5:53

17. 6:05 - Hami froze up on me and stopped me in my tracks but kept pushing as much as I could.

18. 6:22

19. 7:11

20. 8:22 - More Cramping, tried to get going after I worked it out but, as soon as I started going it would seize-up again. So, I had to just shut it down and get it done.  I was pretty pissed at the time. But I knew I was having problems from the beginning. Oh, well.

21. 9:31

22. 9:21

23. 9:42

24. 9:38

25. 9:50

26. 9:06

26.1. 8:00 - My sprint to the finish.
