32F, NW 20-35 mph.  8:36 AP.  Fortunately all the 50 mph gusts were last night.  Unfortunately, they blew part of our steel-and-concrete-reinforced fence down, not to mention the neighbor's huge trampoline somehow ended up in our backyard.

Gotta pick a 5k-10k pace interval workout tomorrow.  I'm even tossing around the idea of just running a 5k time trial on the track.  5k's count as 5k pace, right?  As usual, I'll probably decide as I'm jogging down to the high school...

Another idea is to plan on a 2 mile / 3200m time trial... run it, and decide on lap #8 whether to:

1) Keep going until 5K

or

2) Call it at 2 miles and then add on some 200s or 400s

not a bad option!

I like the 2 mile option ... 11:30?

From SlowJoe on Thu, Dec 20, 2012 at 09:43:30 from 155.219.241.10

Not sure, but I think I'd be all done if I ran 11:30. Maybe 12:00-ish if I wanted to do some more hard running. We'll see, I never can predict how I'll do at the track.

Decide and commit NOW! That's my motto.

I like to run 5ks when I am chasing someone, but I like Jake's idea. I think super hard efforts solo are important though because they can make you push even harder in a race situation. I need to do a 1-mile time trial at some point, but I never figured out how to run well on the track. My only experiences are some two mile runs for soccer and my smoking 9:15 mile freshman year of high school :)

From SlowJoe on Thu, Dec 20, 2012 at 18:12:14 from 69.131.141.92

Burt - I commit...to decide later.

Jason - too bad we don't live closer, we could push each other to some 1-mile PR's. Clash of the Non-Runners. They could put it on TV but would probably need a commercial break somewhere in the middle.
