42F. 7:41 AP. Early, sluggish start. Been struggling through a headcold all week - seems to be hanging around for awhile.

The one thing I want to keep from Pfitz is the MLR, but not at the expense of workouts this time. This week it was doable.

Nice run. So remind me again, are you addinge more slow miles or cutting back and going faster in your new program? I am certainly at a crossroads, although I am mature enough to know that part of it is taper madness.

What is MLR?

Oh, can't stand the Santa Cow!

From Jake K on Wed, Dec 19, 2012 at 09:09:18 from 155.100.226.191

I'm trying to make one of my mid-week workout total about 15-18 miles, and telling myself that replaces the MLR. I think I'll recover better if I don't throw in the mid-week 15, even if its really easy.

But in a week where you aren't doing any many workouts, its definitely still worth throwing in there.

flat - miles are going up, workouts are just structured much differently.

IJR - MLR = medium-long run (14-16 miles maybe)

Jake - that's about what I'm going to do. A lot of weeks in the specific phase, the mid-week workout is a lot of AT/GMP so the mileage should be there anyway. Definitely not adding in an additional MLR those weeks, I think it would crush me if I tried.

I am glad you translated. Is there a list of common abbreviations used on this site? Pfitz?

From SlowJoe on Thu, Dec 20, 2012 at 08:17:20 from 155.219.241.10

Tom - Pfitz(inger) wrote the book "Advanced Marathoning" which contained the general plan I followed to get my BQ. Great book, but like anything, it only works for a little while until you have to change things up a bit.
