70F, 93%.  8:13 AP.  I couldn't even do my 8 easy miles today, turned around early.  I think trying to run that race, with strep throat or whatever, broke me down.  I can almost pinpoint when it happened in the race.  Just feel exhausted at any pace ever since then, and I should be recovered by now.

Here is the plan: Go get some rest!!!! You are crazy to run through your sickness. I hope it clears up soon.

I'm sure you'll be recovered soon Joe. Maybe a little bit of rest will be just what you need.

Sounds like that race broke you down pretty bad. The good news is that the less than ideal performance wasn't due to lack of fitness - you were sick! But now you need to get out of the recovery hole... for some reason I thought your marathon was early Nov... but you've got time until the 18th... so don't panic. Just focus on feeling better, and you'll still have time to get in a couple more weeks of good running before the race.

Bec/DB - thanks, I plan to rest up this weekend for sure

Jake - I was just thinking the only bright spot is that I know there was definitely something wrong with me in the race. Definitely going to be a low-key weekend, running-wise.

Not to sounds mean or anything but maybe it is good you didn't run today. Get better so you can get back to running up to speed again.

I wouldn't even know how to go about finding one, but might not hurt to check in at a good doctor's office somewhere. Good luck whatever you decide, and definitely sit back for a few days.

From SlowJoe on Sat, Oct 13, 2012 at 15:18:09 from 69.131.141.92

Bec - yeah, I fought the urge and decided to sit today out

flat - the illness is completely gone, so it's down to a running problem. A few more easy days to start next week and then I'll see if that did anything
