79F. 7:47 avg. I convinced myself to get in a workout today - 6 heat-adjusted, tempo-paced miles. To seal the deal in this self-arbitration proceeding (which took place during my warmup), I offered a 1-minute jog between each mile. So the workout was first 8 miles easy, then 6 x 1-mile with 60 sec jog in between. Then cool down whatever was left.

tempo 6 -- 7:09 AP (7:15, 7:12, 7:12, 7:14, 7:07, 6:53).
The 1-minute jogs were around 8:20s for the pace. I liked this workout. One minute is obviously not enough to recover much, but it gives you something to look forward to. It was hard enough that I was glad to be done but easy enough that I didn't want to quit running, which is the normal workout feeling for me.
This afternoon, I'm going in to get my free massage from winning a 5K awhile back. I'm a little nervous that it might be from a dude, because they didn't say. I know Danielle thinks I'm stupid, but I am going to try to be mature either way. |
