30 minutes on the bike at the gym.  It was easier to figure out than the elliptical, apparently you just sit there and pedal.  Anyway I increased the resistance and pedaled fast until it was hard to do - I just can't make myself spend more than 30 minutes on these machines though.

Yes, they are awful. I haven't tried it yet, but somebody on this blog said that pool running is practically like the real thing and a great way to get past the injury. Maybe a little less boring than the machines.

Yeah. I'm with you on machines. It's just hard to stay interested. I've never done pool running, but I bet it's worth checking into, if you have some convenient place.

I love to cycle. There is nothing like getting your heart rate up like climbing up a hill on a bike. Flat is right though, I have heard that pool running is great for getting past those injuries. Good luck!

Maybe I'll try the pool running - it's under construction this week though. Tracy, hip is better than last week; I'm just trying to figure out if I should wait until it's completely pain-free, or if it's ok to run with very minor soreness. I found myself getting jealous of the people on the stupid treadmills today, and I hate the TM.

I feel you on the machines. The bore factor is more than I can stand, plus the lack of moving air just makes the drippy sweat gross. It makes you sooo grateful though when you finally get to feel the ground underneath your running feet outside!
