5 @ 8:16 pace.  Middle mile was a blind race pace mile (not looking at Garmin) at 7:54, so I think I'll be fine without GPS.

Wind forecast looks a little more reasonable now for OKC - maybe 10-12 mph at racetime.  It looks like it might work out to be a headwind on the first half which has some downhill and a tailwind on the second half which has 3 tough uphill miles (9, 10 and 11).  I think that's probably the ideal wind direction.

I sometimes feel I'm crippled by the watch. I'm thinking about putting the face on the underside of my wrist to discourage obsessing over it.

You're gonna surprise yourself, I swear! Even with the wind, I still say around 1:42.

Getting close to race day! Are you going to take tomorrow off and then jog a few shake-out miles Saturday? I can't wait for your race report!

Oh yeah a lot my tribe will be down there in OKC running the full marathon--I know you won't recognize them but if you run into Carlos, Eddy, Steph, Stacy, and Kurt they are all super-cool!

Tracy - I know, maybe not having it will be a blessing and I can feel out whatever pace is right instead of trying to force something.

April, due to traveling and stuff I was just going to do 4 ez miles Friday morning and then not run until the race. Sound like an ok plan? And if I see anyone wearing a Tribe shirt I'll flag em down and say hi.

Sounds awesome! You will hear the tribe before you ever see them LOL!

Good luck on Sunday. I think running without a watch might actually work to your advantage, you will feel how fast you are and the watch won't be there to slow you down.
