You need more recovery runs! Don't think of it as wasted. Your body loves you for those runs :)

Booo work! Quit your job and live off the land.

Ha, I feel the same way sometimes. But Tracy is right, recovery runs are so important. Matt Fitzgerald has an interesting take on why they are some important in Brain Training for Runners.

In a nutshell it is not for what we have been taught, e.g. to get the blood flowing, etc, but rather to keep taxing the glycogen fuel system while its low, and this can be done by running another run within 24 hours of a hard run.

Good run, hope we get some of that weather down here. Interesting theory, DH. I have always thought that running tired is good training but have never been able to articulate. I'm going to have to read some of these books.

Tracy's right. She's always right.

You are such a devoted worker! Don't let it get to your running.

I'm always right, even when I'm wrong. Glad someone understands.

Tracy - you are right...about quitting work. It just doesn't mesh with running as well as I would like, so i think I'm just not going to go anymore.

DH - interesting, I always thought of recovery runs as just a way to get in more mileage without killing yourself.

Thanks Flat, looks like the whole state cooled off today.

I know Burt...I know.

Rye - going AWOL right now!
