Goal was 2 warmup, 4 tempo @ sub 7:30, 2 HMGP.  Splits: 8:29, 8:22, 7:29, 7:17, 7:21, 7:08, 8:08, 7:47.  Averaged 7:45 for the entire 8.

This run was basically the same as 1 week ago with an extra HMGP mile at the end.  It was a bit windier which might be why I couldn't quite equal the tempo times from last week (could not even manage 8:00 pace into the headwind this time), but I still hit the overall targets there.  I also did not quite meet the HMGP on mile 7 as I was pretty wiped out, but managed to make up for it on the last mile to average out to sub-8 recovery miles.  I was definitely relieved to hear the beep at 8 miles today, so I know I got good training.

Nice run Joe--good progressive splits on the sub 7:30 tempo--you are starting to finish stronger. I betcha you had the same south wind I had today. No mercy!

That's an awesome workout, dude. Can I call you dude?

Great splits!

Thanks all. Of course Burt, "dude" definitely beats some other names I've been called.

Good run, it's the tough ones that count. Is your knee feeling better already? That is a fast repair.

Flat - it's a recurring ailment right now (runner's knee). I'm getting to be familiar enough with it that it's predictable at least, and it hasn't stopped a run yet. Just pops up with extra mileage, but almost always goes away (enough) by the first mile. And I think it's slowly getting better with my quad exercises and daily glucosamine...slowly.

Nice job on the workout today. I see you have a 10k race coming up. That sub 47 is in your sites!!!! Well unless you have another windy race day. If you do we can always have another math discussion.

Fortunately it's in downtown Austin which normally gets about half the wind we do here, so no excuses hopefully!
