71F.  Today was 4 x 1600m with 400m active recoveries.  I was shooting for 10K-15K pace (roughly 6:05 - 6:20 per McMillan).  Splts (with recoveries) were:

6:06, (2:03), 6:11, (2:12), 6:14, (2:15), 6:01.

Typical SlowJoe intervals, paces all over the place, but overall I did what I wanted.

Got home and realized I was out of chocolate milk, so I recovered with a Coke and a stack of lunchmeat.  Just like the pros, I'm sure.

Nice splits! My splits monday were standing gasping for a couple of minutes!

Sometimes my recovery inclues a big slug of pickle juice :-)

Nice job on the mile reps!

I think that recovery food works - its fluid + carbs + protein... it gets the job done! people overthink that stuff too much! :-)

Nice workout. Don't beat yourself up. The difference between 6:16 and 6:05 is what, 50 meters?

Nice job Joe, and I hate milk so yep, great recovery meal!

From Daniel Brunson on Thu, Jun 07, 2012 at 07:15:14 from 68.14.171.105

Good job on the last interval being the fastest. On my last effort like this I dropped off the cliff on the last one. Maybe I need to start drinking Coke. :-)

Nice run joe... Coke? You have found my vice! Have you tried vanilla coke?

From SlowJoe on Thu, Jun 07, 2012 at 19:56:23 from 69.131.141.92

IJR - mmm, pickle juice. Yeah I like to keep moving the whole time, painful as it is, so I don't recover TOO much.

Jake - only problem is it's tough to choke down sliced turkey at 7am when you're hot and tired!

Neil - yeah, not too bad -- the intra-mile splits were weird too, I did a lot of adjusting each lap.

Dan - thanks. Not a huge fan of milk either but put chocolate in it and I'm fine.

DB - I have definitely mastered the art of sandbagging the next-to-last interval so I have some gas in the tank

Rye - yeah I drink a lot of coke. Better than snorting it I guess. Vanilla coke doesn't sound like something I'd like but I admit I haven't tried it yet.
