Just checking in with my bloggies.  You can find me more often on facebook, but I will try to check in here also from time to time.  Excuse me while I journal a bit and do a 2010 running recap for the benefit of my foggy memory. 2010 was a busy year as I took on more hours at work and graduate school- not to mention supporting my hubby who is in FT grad school. Add two busy kids involved in soccer, scouts, horse shows, etc.  So, full plate- YES! But isn't that true for us all??!!  I did lots of jazzercising and running in moderation.  Many Saturdays spent doing the 7 mile loop around gorgeous Salem Lake with a couple girl friends (Kim, Casey, Jaime, Candice, Stacie).  A couple girls got injuries, had babies, etc. so the running partners waxed & waned this past year.

I did compete in a couple great races- Beat the Heat 5k in July, Salem Lake 10K in Sept. When I look back over the year and realize I only did two races I can hardly believe it!! I used to do a race about ever 4-6 weeks.  Oh well.  I am registered for a 10k on March 5th and I am currently getting out every T, Th & Sat for runs.  Then I try to get in Jazzercise on M, W, F.

Just wanted to shout out & let you all know I'm still alive & kicking even though my posting in very seldom.

Wishing you all a fab 2011 with lots of great running & more importantly much love & health :)

My sister & I ran the Disney Wine & Dine Half Relay, it was awesome! I'd looked forward to running a Disney race for the past 5 years and it did live up to the hype.  This race was especially fun cause afterwards there was a post race party at Epcot with a free drink and $10 credit to use at Epcot's international food festival.  The food was delish, not your standard amusement park stuff.  They also had a few rides open for us- we rode Soarin' & Test Track.  Along the course they had characters and different entertainment and magical disney music, kept things exciting.  My sister ran the first 4.8 and I ran the last 8.3.  I averaged 8:51 according to my Garmin.  We came in right at 2 hrs which we were happy with considering this was our first half relay.  In hindsight I wish I'd kept a better eye on our overall time because I'm sure I could've brought us in under the 2 hr mark...next time :)

Since I moved to FL in July, I have met up with a great group of running chicas.  We meet 2x a week for sculpt and 2-3x a week for runs.  Most are in my ward and all are lots of fun! Melissa is our fearless leader who is a certified fitness instructor and kicks our booty while providing great entertainment :)  I love these girls! Emily is a great motivator who always asks me if I want to run just a mile more, or just 15 min more...she finds new routes and gets me out the door on extra days- she's awesome! We usually run over the causeway, but have also done a couple beach runs.  Some are training for the Disney Marathon or the Half in Jan.  I haven't registered yet ($$$$...), but hope to soon and will see how I feel at the end of Nov. whether I register for the half or full.  I'm averaging 15-20+ miles a week depending on how long our Sat. run is.  We usually only get in a quality long run every other week. I'm going to try to be more regular about my FRB posts!

Happy Runnin'

So glad you are back! How is Florida? I was wondering where you would end up when Jim was done with school. Has he found a good practice? I am so jealous that you are living near the beach.....

Crazy run.  Was supposed to be 13 miles, but we lost a runner along the way.  Retraced our route and couldn't find her.  So we ran back to a car and drove the route 2x, still couldn't find her.  Since it was dark and she was alone & missing we got really concerned.  We called the police.  Overreaction? Not sure.  The alternative was to just let her be missing??!! Ugh.  Ends up she took a short cut off the route to try to catch up with the rest of us.  She got in a nice long run, while myself and another friend had an andrendaline pumping morning worrying about her.  Lesson learned: run with a phone next time (none of us were carrying one). Geesh.
