Personal:

I've been running since high school (mid-1990s) and do pretty well when I'm focused on a goal. My main problem  is running consistently when I'm NOT training for something specific. I'm an attorney, and I've been married to my husband, also a runner, for 5 1/2 years. We live in Phoenix, Arizona.  We had a beautiful baby girl, Caroline, in August 2009.

It was 68 degrees and windy when I headed out!  I am SOOO sore from yesterday.  I'm not sure if it's from the dynamic stretching, which included lunges, or the fartlek intervals.  So my pace was pretty slow: a 9:57 average.  I'm sick of being slow!

You guys are having a cool spell? 68 sounds like downright nippy after 108. What a swing. Good job getting out!

Yea for weather changes! I am loving it. 59 degrees right now. Hey, have you seen that Arizona Road Racers 5K this Sat.? It's over by the zoo, and has a staggered start. I think they have the age groups take off together. Interesting, huh? I'm going to run it. It'd be fun to see you there!

Yes, the weather change is great, except it forced us to scrap our Lake Powell weekend plans. Phoenix will be the place to be this weekend! Lybi, I am thinking about running that 5K. I wouldn't get as many miles as I wanted for the week, but I could find out how good (or bad) shape I'm really in! Maybe I'll see you there!

Shauna- I think you're doing great! Its still Spring, we're all dusting off the winter. You're not slow! Hope I get to read your race report along with Lybi's tomorrow!

A 5k would be a great tempo workout for you Shauna. I'd say do it!
