Personal:

I've been running since high school (mid-1990s) and do pretty well when I'm focused on a goal. My main problem  is running consistently when I'm NOT training for something specific. I'm an attorney, and I've been married to my husband, also a runner, for 5 1/2 years. We live in Phoenix, Arizona.  We had a beautiful baby girl, Caroline, in August 2009.

Ugh.  I am still sick.  But, the Dave Matthews concert was awesome!  I know if I could have some down time I would feel better.  But that's just not an option with my work schedule this week.  I haven't been able to sleep, either.

When it rains, it pours.  As if being sick for several days isn't bad enough, we got in a car wreck yesterday!  We got rear-ended pretty hard, but there was no damage to our car, amazingly!  my neck is a little stiff today, but that's it.  I just have to laugh about it now.

St. George seems to be more and more of a pipe dream now.  I'll have to reassess after I get over this sickness.  Blah...

Sorry you're still sick Shauna, and how scary that you got in an accident! Thank goodness you're OK.

Don't give up on St. George quite yet; you may be surprisingly strong when you get back to healthy!

Sorry about everything! I hope you still come to St. George! You can do it!

That kind of sucks about the series of misfortunes. But at least the concert was great. Also, I don't think it is too late for St. George, you have a solid month of training left to put on top of your current base.

I went to a DMB concert in Denver back in 1999 and I didn't enjoy it that much. Alanis Morissette opened and I really was just going to see her, but the traffic getting to the concert was HORRIBLE and I listened to her on the freeway in gridlock (I could hear her wafting to me) and as we parked, and as we ran to the stadium. I saw two songs of hers before she gave the stage to DMB. Perhaps that's why I didn't like it. . . I was still ticked about missing Alanis.

On to running, I hope you can come to St. G. I hope you are feeling better soon.

Michelle, I'm sorry about your DMB experience. That would be incredibly frustrating to be late and hear the concert from far away! I have a special place in my heart for Alanis Morrissette: she was my first "secular" concert ever, in 1996. I wasn't allowed to go to secular concerts in high school...I never sick of DMB. This was my 4th time seeing him. It was especially poignant after the death of their sax player last week. Good times!

Whoa! That comment came out all wrong! The sax player's death is not "good times." I meant DMB concerts are good times. Oops...
