Personal:

I've been running since high school (mid-1990s) and do pretty well when I'm focused on a goal. My main problem  is running consistently when I'm NOT training for something specific. I'm an attorney, and I've been married to my husband, also a runner, for 5 1/2 years. We live in Phoenix, Arizona.  We had a beautiful baby girl, Caroline, in August 2009.

This was kind of a rough run, and I'm not sure why.  My legs felt very sluggish, especially after stopping at traffic lights-they felt like jello!  I'm pretty sure I slowed down quite a bit in the last couple of miles.

No garmin, so I don't know my pace/time.  I'm trying really hard not to care about my pace on easy days, but I can't help wondering!

I have been pretty consistent lately, and keeping my weekly mileage steady, so I can't help wondering why I am struggling so much with "easy" 6-mile runs...

Alot of times I feel sluggish and jello legged the day after a massage. Don't worry about it.

Great job on keeping consistent! I wanna be like you

I just glanced back and saw that post about the lady who was examining your chakras. Broken hearted, huh? Maybe that's why your run felt hard. (Tee-hee.)

Hey, when's your next half marathon? Any chance you might want to carpool to Provo for the Provo River Half? It's in August and it's mostly gentle downhill.

Josse, thanks. I had never run the day after a leg massage before, so I didn't know what I was getting into.

Lybi, you do NOT want to be like me! Remember the "break" I took? Now I'm building my endurance back up from scratch! Thanks for the compliment, though.

Yes, my chakras are punishing me! Hey, if you're nice, and my chakras behave, I'll let you borrow them!

I would love to run the Provo Half, but I will be on vacation that weekend on the East Coast (and trying desperately to find a race up there, with no luck so far). I'm keeping my eyes peeled for another half in Arizona, though. I'm jealous-I LOVE half marathons!
