Personal:

I've been running since high school (mid-1990s) and do pretty well when I'm focused on a goal. My main problem  is running consistently when I'm NOT training for something specific. I'm an attorney, and I've been married to my husband, also a runner, for 5 1/2 years. We live in Phoenix, Arizona.  We had a beautiful baby girl, Caroline, in August 2009.

It's amazing how one can feel so different from week to week.  I felt DEAD today.  I actually had to walk quite a bit on the way home.  At about mile 5, I started feeling some intense pain in my right hip flexor, and my left groin muscle hurt when I got home.  I did run last night, and it was hotter than usual this morning, but I'm wondering if I might be overtraining a bit.

I'm adjusting my goals for the week.  I'll wait until next week to hit 50.  I just want to maintain the 46-47 mileage for this week.  Hopefully I'll feel better tomorrow.

I'm liking the 46-47 mile range myself right now! I feel like it is a pretty big adjustment to get that many miles in and stay refreshed and healthy. I think it's OK to keep it where you are at for a while. However, I'm just a newbie, so what do I know? Just my two cents.
