Personal:

I've been running since high school (mid-1990s) and do pretty well when I'm focused on a goal. My main problem  is running consistently when I'm NOT training for something specific. I'm an attorney, and I've been married to my husband, also a runner, for 5 1/2 years. We live in Phoenix, Arizona.  We had a beautiful baby girl, Caroline, in August 2009.

I'm pre-blogging today.  I woke up every last night to my toe THROBBING.  Who knew a stupid blister could cause so much trouble?  I have been limping since Saturday.  If I can make it through the workday without limping, I'll go run on the treadmill tonight.

I really want to break 50 miles this week, so I hope the toe cooperates!

PM-the toe cooperated.  Wouldn't you know, it started KILLING me as soon as I stopped running.  I guess the solution is...run all the time!

I ran 6 miles on the dreadmill.  I wanted to do 7, but my body was acting up a bit.  Nothing I can put my finger on: a few chills, a weird feeling in what felt like a tendon wrapping my heel.  So I cut the run a little short.

For me, though, when I say I ran "only" six miles, that is a good day!

I think blisters are one of the worst things to run through! Have you tried a little mole skin or anything? It seems to help take the pressure off the area. Hope you are able to fulfill your pre-blogging!

Shauna,

I have used blister pads in the past for long backpacking trips (and one unfortunate new running shoe problem) - now I always keep some in my running bag. http://www.theinsoleman.com/products/10278

Good luck!

Thanks guys. I have some Second Skin, but every time I wear it, it doesn't stay put! Maybe I'll try moleskin-hopefully it will stay where it's supposed to!

Good luck Shauna. Nothing more aggravating than wanting to run and having some injury or problem that keeps you from it. Hopefully the blister won't stop your goal!
