Personal:

I've been running since high school (mid-1990s) and do pretty well when I'm focused on a goal. My main problem  is running consistently when I'm NOT training for something specific. I'm an attorney, and I've been married to my husband, also a runner, for 5 1/2 years. We live in Phoenix, Arizona.  We had a beautiful baby girl, Caroline, in August 2009.

AARRRGGHHH....couldn't get out this morning.  Have to do treadmill mileage tonight with NO iPod.  Between my husband and me, we are having problems!  He has foot pain, so he is riding the bike right now.  I have mega neck pain, which theoretically should not affect my running, but it kind of does.  I'll get it done tonight-hold me to it, people!

PM-I did it.  I ran 6 miles on the treadmill at 9:40 pace.  It was so boring!  That will teach me to get up with the alarm!  I am meeting my Saturday group for a midweek run tomorrow morning, so that will be a nice change of pace during the week.  Most of them are faster than me, so I'll probably run alone anyway.  But Paradise Bakery will await at the end!

I'm here to hold you to it! Good luck with the pain in the neck!

So you doing a 5k this weekend?! FUN! You'll do awesome!

To answer your question (from a few days ago- sorry- my new job is Social Worker for the state of utah. I work with victims of domestic violence. I like it so far!)

Nice job sticking it out on the treadmill! :) What group do you run with on weekends up there?

From Shauna on Wed, Jul 02, 2008 at 11:56:04

Christi, I decided against the 5k this weekend. My family is up in Flagstaff, and I just want to get up there as soon as possible. I think I'm going to do one in a couple of weeks, though. Glad you like your job!

Lauren, I run with an informal group of other attorneys and judges. Luckily, we don't talk about work very often while we run! I used to run with Scottsdale Running Company, but it's a 25-minute drive over there, so I stopped.
