Running Accomplishments:

I began running for my first time about 3 years ago. I remember calling everyone I knew the first time a ran 2 miles w/out stopping. I ran Mesa Falls half marathon @ 2:21 in fall 2009. I ran Salt Lake half marathon spring 2010 @ 1:54. Then I ran Missoula, MT full marathon summer 2010 @ 4:25. I was injured (IT Band) for Portland marathon (fall 2010) but went and picked up my packet anyway. Ran Ogden 4:26....

Short-Term Running Goals:

Over the next two years, I would like to improve my strenghth and speed.

Long-Term Running Goals:

I WILL qualify and run Boston before I turn 40. I just turned 36 this year ~

Personal:

In May, 2013, I will have been married to my love, Rex, for 16years. And it just keeps getting better and better! Two beautiful daughters. Emma (8) and Ali (5). This is my ninth year teaching and I love that I get paid to do it! Running gives me energy, sanity and is simple joy for me.

Total Distance
13.10

Course changed from two years ago to add three more miles of trail running - that became a bit technical. Many up's and down's - my legs felt trashed by the time I reached pavement at mile 10.20 - I did indeed walk the last three hills in those three miles. Hardest run I have done to date, but feeling so acomplished! Trail Running is not for the faint at heart. There were 260 participants, so I am happy to have placed 61st without training on trails. Twice this summer while camping apparently wasn't enough :)

Congrats on running a strong effort at a tough race! Hope you felt good during the run. Yeah, trail running is definitely different than roads...I like the roads and the rhythm you get into.

Thanks Jeff! It was good to be out there - so beautiful, but for my schedule and time of life, road running for me! I agree with the rhythm on the road for sure. I did sign up for the Zeitgeist half marathon the first weekend in November - hope to be under two hours :)
