I really want to run to the summit of View Benchmark from my house, so today I just went out to see how far up to the top of Suncrest I could get in 45 minutes since I had 90 minutes to run. From my house I ran to 1500 N. in Highland and then went west to 6800 W. where I turned and went north. At Freedom Elementary I turned left and followed that to 7200 W. I was excited to run the huge hill here. I think it is as steep as any I have seen in northern Utah County and it was fun to blast down the hill and then make the steep climb back up to the top. When I reached SR-92 I turned right and ran on the road that has been blocked with construction cones. The construction crews were nice enough to leave the Honey Bucket open, so I took a quick potty stop and then continued to the road that goes up to Suncrest (Highland BLVD). I was able to run almost a mile and a half up the road before I had to turn around. I had to stop and make a phone call in a neighborhood and I was getting chilled fast.

The run down and back home was fun. I had a lot on my mind and the miles went by really fast. I did make another potty stop and also had to make another call, so that slowed me down, but my pace was faster on the way back. Hopefully I can run all the way to the top of VB next time.

Smooth up in ya. Sounds like a good one.

Sounds like you did a lot of stopping and yapping. hehe just kidding.

The honey bucket reminds me of the Antelope run last year. Their POP's reeked so bad!

Hope you get to reach the top next time. Add it to your list and getter done. I know you will. :)

My Honey Bucket protocol is as follows:

-Take a huge deep breath before entering and hold

-Do the bidness

-Take additional breath inside shirt if necessary

-Hand sanitizer if available

-Exit as quickly as possible

-Breathe

-Pull up shorts

That sounds like such a fun run!

I love running up steep hills on the way out and cruising on the way back :) Much better than doing it in reverse!

Hey!!! You were running in my neighborhood. I know exactly the hill you described. I used to call it the *killer dip*. At the bottom of the dip is exactly one mile from my house.

I haven't done Suncrest for awhile. I used to run it as a MLR middle of the week. It is 13 miles round trip from my house to the top and back. I need to do that again...so fun!!! :)

NICE run! Next time use the bathroom at the Smith's Market Place instead of the honey bucket...hehe! :)

so, you exit THEN pull up your shorts? hmmm... :)

Nice job on the run. I like it when I've got a lot on my mind and running just flies by and helps clear my mind.

Dasha- Steep hills are the best. :) I totally agree with you.

Hey Smooth- I'm sure the bathroom at Smiths would be much nicer, but the POP was so fast. :) That is a fun run. You should do it. :)

RAD- Yes. :)

Totally agree.
