I couldn't stand the thought of the TM, so I decided to run the track at the gym instead. I did 6 miles (78 laps) in 49 minutes. It was good to do something different, and I got to watch all of the treadmillers through the glass. It felt like I was having more fun. :)

My knee felt really good the whole time. It still gets a little sore if I sit at my desk for too long, but doesn't really hurt.

Glad your knee felt good during the run. 78 laps!?! Did you reverse directions ever so often?

Sitting is so bad for runners' joints. Make sure you get up every 45 min to stretch, change sitting positions. When I flew home after Boston Marathon, I sat in "open hip cross-legged pose", walked up and down the isle, stretched frequently and even did "downward dog" on the plane.

Thanks Smooth. Maybe I should have changed directions. It was almost as boring as the TM, but not quite. :)

I am starting to figure out that since I have been running I do get so sore and stiff when I sit too long. Speaking of Boston, I see you're going this year. I'm excited to hear about it. :)

When you're running in lotsa laps on a track; it's a good idea to change directions. Because of the nature of the turns, the inside knee (left knee when running counterclockwise) takes on more stress. When I run intervals on the track, I would run my warm up and cool down laps clockwise (on the outer/slow lane). It might look like I'm going the wrong way; but it helps to not irritate the ITBs.
