Total Distance
14.50

The legs were feeling somewhat rested....hahahaha I ran the Huntsman Senior Games half this morning. Went out too fast but it felt okay. Ended up getting in a groove and tried to keep the effort minimal and consistent. My goal was to run an 8:00 pace for the race and just enjoy it. I also wanted to run the complete distance without stopping for walk breaks along the way. I only stopped to get water at the aid stations and kept it minimal. Felt good until the last 2 miles. The left leg was getting tired and all I could remember was cramping in the marathon. I basically used the right leg to push and the left was just following.

I ended up with a 7:35 average pace! Bronze medal in my age group 50-54.

Time to heal up...................................

I went over 1800 miles running for the year today. To me this is unbelievable! I will easily go over 2000 miles for the year. That is by far more miles running in one year than I have have run my whole life.

Who runs a 1:39 not even a week after a marathon? Who does that? I can't even do it fresh. Crazy!

Eric, I am going to rest a bit. 2 weeks till I run a 5k then 2 weeks later a half then 2 weeks later a marathon.

Thanks Burt! I am really wondering why the heck I even attempted to race this week. The lure of the World Senior Games in my home town did me in.......I am glad I did it because I actually feel very fresh now...weird!
